So, as it was, Cal had told himself that he was going to cut back, take it easy, quit the workout thing for a few days so that he wasn't constantly feeling as if someone had been pulling on his limbs like taffy, but...

There he was again, drifting into the gym and intent of killing an hour with weights. He rationalized this with himself in three ways: one, he had at least changed up the timing. People up early enough to be there in the morning were clearly motivated people, so they would do things like workout. By late afternoon, people were usually too lazy or busy, so he might have some quiet time. Secondly, he worked tomorrow. He knew he wouldn't be working out if he had work and an audition for that play thing to go to.

The third reason was simple. Explosing-shooting Santa Clauses demanded a little sweat and iron and regularity just to clear his head a bit.

Seriously.

[[ yeah, it's open, of course. ]]
intraspective: (are you REALLY sure)

Evening found her sprawled on the ground in front of her cabin’s campfire, which, thanks to her, was blazing merrily. She was at somewhat of a loss as to what to do for the evening, really.

Sleep was considered, and then disregarded. No doubt she’d fall asleep eventually anyway, but there was no need to rush it. If it wasn’t for the fact that she had three classes tomorrow, Ino would’ve headed straight back into the preserve for more training.

But, no. Stupid classes.

Ino stared at the fire and wished for some of Reno’s booze. She totally should’ve grabbed a bit of it for… safekeeping, yes, that was it. Safekeeping.

And, you know, drinking. Note to self: Steal Reno's booze at some point.

Yes, she could always buy her own, but the stealing bit would totally be fun if she could pull it off. Hmmmm.

[Open as a campfire is!]

Anyone passing by would hear a great deal of swearing in Chinese, but probably wouldn't be able to see much in the dark.

Inara had (rather reluctantly) discovered that starting a campfire was much more complicated than it looked, particularly when one had never done it before.

Any help would probably be vastly appreciated.
