He'd been up so late last night, trying to sleep but unable to until he exhausted himself to the point of practically passing out from crying and trying to keep it quiet so no one else in the cabin noticed it, that Cal thought about just skipping the workout thing all together. But the fact that he had been up all night for crying seemed to only convince him that skipping the workout was the last thing he could do. He felt drained and ridiculous and tired, emasculated and embarrassed, and, as usual, thought that somehow working out could make up for it.

If anything, though, it always did make him feel at least a little better.

Jack was poking at the fire, wondering about his cabin-mates. Sure, he was here with his Little Brother, who'd he'd barely seen since the picnic, but... everyone else felt like a stranger. He'd been here for a long time, and still hadn't connected with anyone. There was the thing with Amber, but...

He poked a log with his fire-poker-stick and knocked it over, sending a brief rise of sparks. Yeah. Something like that. So now, he was just staring at the fire, sitting against a log, wondering what was going on around him. He was even ignoring the s'mores supplies he had brought out.

After hearing the radio broadcast the night before, Dean had headed over to the seniors cabin and had found Meg the barbie doll just as the radio had said. And unlike his own stint as a doll, she didn't seem capable of independent movement so he felt it behooved him to keep her safe when she couldn't do it herself.

And since it seemed somehow rude to leave her alone in his alcove which explained why he was out here sitting by the fire with various campfire junkfood on one side and Meg the barbie doll sitting on the log beside him on the other.

"So," he said as it fell on him to carry the conversation since she couldn't talk. "Fandom sure is weird isn't it?"
