Amber didn't sleep well last night. Ugh. Turtle shouldn't have said what she did. She was wrong. WRONG! It didn't sound like that, did it? With Cal? Nooooooo! It most certainly did not. Amber was firmly believing that too.

Whatever.

God.

In the kitchen of the common room she was making blueberry pancakes and muttering under her breath. Maybe Claire didn't hear radio. If she did, maybe she just didn't care. Because there was nothing to care about. Seriously. It was only a second date anyway. Right? I mean, how serious is that?

"Screw it. I didn't do anything."

Lots of pancakes.

She needed a second date to fix stuff in her head.

When Aravis had woken to discover that her dog was a rather affectionate and...all right, not altogether bright young man, it had been surprising enough.

However, it occurred to her that Trenor had likely gone through a similar transition, which was why she and Ata had made their way down after leaving a message for Karal and Altra.

"Ata, no!" Aravis said, wide-eyed as she yanked his hand to prevent him from going over to sniff and do god knows what to a tree. "Be good and I'll give you human food later."

"Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay," Ata said, beaming at her, all thoughts of the tree banished from his mind.

Ben--who had droids, but no pets--had not noticed anything amiss so far.

He'd decided that an entire day of hiding in his room was probably bordering on overdramatic, so he wandered down to the common room, flipped on the television and made popcorn.

Thank the Force for the "popcorn" button on the microwave.

He was now trying to follow the plotline of some movie about cheerleading.
