While he had enjoyed the cruise more than he had expected, and eventually got used to being on a ship, Leto was happy to be back. He had considered writing one of those letters he could never send to his sister at home, but decided against it - they always made him melancholy and that wasn't what he wanted.

Instead, he brought the baliset to the common room, and after tuning the instrument he began to play a slow Caladan song, one that Gurney Hallek had once taught his father.

Considering that all Cal did once he got back to his room was lay on the bed and do nothing, he realized that he really needed to go and do something to get him back into the swing of no more vacation time. He almost had to force himself to do it, but he was down in the gym eventually, hitting up the weight machines, settling into the old routine, at the protest of all his relaxed muscles.

It didn't take long, though, before he was really enjoying it and getting fairly into it, too.
