withoutverona: (from a distance)

Romeo was still sleepy when he wandered out of the cabin, mug of coffee clenched in one hand. (Someday he'd learn to make it properly without burning it. This wasn't that day, but this attempt was at least palatable when mixed almost 50-50 with cream and sugar.) That was his only excuse for thinking the falling glitter was snow at first, and his only reaction was faint disgust that they weren't done with the cold and wet part of the year yet.

Then he noticed the "snow" wasn't melting against his flesh and was, in fact, sparkling. He stood there stupidly in the morning sun, rotating his glittering limbs and wondering if he should be feeling some urge to kiss a boy.

Elspeth found the local oddities to be more intriguing than overwhelming, in general. Still, it was a relief to retreat to the salle and work through her sword exercises. It was one tiny spot of normal in a great sea of something else entirely.

After leaving etiquette class, Worf felt... different.

The rain of glitter didn't even bother him any more. He felt good. Really good. In fact the day seemed very nice indeed.

It made him smile which... well coming from Worf is a little scary.

He stood out in the glitter rain, an arm outstretched to catch the glitter in his hand as it fell.

"What a glorious day!" he said cheerfully.

[Thanks to Diana, Worf is having a "Nice" day. Do with that as you will.]

Emma was bored. Staying in the cabin for more than a few hours was making her twitch; she'd the close quarters made things too loud, even when she was at her most focused. After being on her own for over a year, and just Hank for company for the last month or so, so many people was making her almost physically ill.

Which is why she was lounging out by the campfire in defiance of the glitter that still occasionally drifted down from the sky. Sunglasses on her face and idly flipping through a magazine while she sucked on a popsicle she'd found somewhere, letting her mind streach and wander about as she relaxed the tight hold she'd been keeping over herself since this morning.

Bored. For a school supposedly full of people with powers, so far, most of them were startlingly dull. Emma was starting to despair.

Maybe some of their thoughts would be more entertaining than the students themselves seemed to be.

[Open as campfires be!]
