A trip to Japan might not have ended in some wacky adventures on a normal day, with people who weren't from Fandom or inclined to getting roped into insanity. It might have just ended with some sore feet from walking around and bad souvenirs being purchased.

But that was not to be for the group who had just returned from their little visit. Stan wearing very different clothing than he'd started with, Butters in what appeared to be a maid's outfit and some kitty ears, Toby missing a shoe and his shirt, Jim having some skillfully applied Kabuki make up on and Sam with a glittery eyepatch.

"You know, I've learned something today," Stan said, arms crossed over his chest. "The future may seem pretty cool with all the robots and cyborgs running around. But I've learned that they're just the same douches that have always been around. No one is better because they live in some fruity little cyber-punk world where people ask you what you'd do if you saw a turtle in the middle of the road. And just because you have the technology to heat Pop Tarts instantaneous in someone's chest cavity and create holographic images of sexual fetishs that no one needed to know existed, that doesn't mean you should. Because it's just freakin' weird and everything should be taken in moderation. Besides, it's just going to bite us in the ass in about ten years."

A beat.

"So let's never do this again. Ever. Ever."

Yes. That was a good moral, Stan.

Peter prided himself in being able to adapt to any situation in a short span of time. By the end of this week, he was genuinely no longer thrown by their current location. Skeptical of half the stories that had been told him, yes, but a touch of healthy skepticism had never helped anyone.

He'd also noticed the importance everyone here seemed to put on their friendships with one another. Their little common room get-togethers. And, wel, it was obvious he was already a little behind, PR-wise, here. So what else could he do but move his ass to the common room in the morning and set out some cereal? Enough to make it look like a properly catered breakfast.

It took a little planning, sure. But if his brother had managed to make friends here - of course he had - then he'd just have to pretend to be just as loveable as Ender to get ahead.

So, cereal, a stack of plates, bread, stuff like that. And Peter with a bowl of cornflakes, watching the news.

Faramir leaned his shoulder against the open gate of the stables, staring out into the ever lasting downpour. This place made him nervous and he wondered if it was his own unease that had Baru skittish these days or if it was the other way around. Their daily rides across the island had become shorter as Faramir did not bother to linger anywhere. It was foolish, perhaps, to let this weather get to him as much, but he could not help wishing the island would grow tired of this gloomy place already.

"I wonder if this is what it would feel like when the clouds of Mount Doom stretch out across the whole of Gondor," he mused aloud. Not that he expect more of an answer than the sound of Baru chewing on his oats. It was a silly thought as there came no rain from those ash clouds, but he could not shake the feeling that the two would be alike.
