With Mom working nights and Dad . . . never around, there was usually nobody to stop Stephanie if she decided she wanted to climb up on the roof at night and watch the sky, hoping Superman or Wonder Woman or Batman or someone would come to find her and take her away from home.

Climbing up to the roof here meant a lot more stairs and a lot less sneaking (and she couldn't decide if that made it more or less fun), but she'd gone up last night anyway, with a pillow and some blankets, and fallen asleep curled up against a planter full of funny-looking plants.

Her neck felt funny 'cause of the weird way she'd fallen asleep, and that was why she woke up, yawned, rubbed a little fist against her eyes, then hopped up. Pulling the pillowcase off her pillow, she tucked it into the collar of her shirt to form a makeshift cape and then contemplated climbing up onto the roof ledge to pose dramatically. 'cause she could! It would look cool, and she could play superhero lots better if she looked cool.

Uh huh. That sounded like a good idea. If only she could just scramble up onto it . . .

[OOC: Will be in and out a bit today, but open if occasionally SPish. I love that I discovered this bit of canon. :D]

Annie was hungry. She'd fed Dolly (did you know droid babies don't like to be fed water?) and cleaned her room and that made her miss breakfast. She knew she could ask an adult or a big kid to make her some, but she had the mind of a big girl and was sure she could do it herself.

So she'd gone to the common room, made the TV show cartoons, and then went into the kitchen and started making breakfast. This meant she was sitting in front of the open fridge door, cracking eggs (badly) and putting them in a bowl on the floor. This would work out a lot better if she was allowed to- or tall enough- to use the stove.

[Open as weetiny common rooms are!]

Okay so. Half of everyone were little kids running amok. Petra didn't think she had a hope of corralling them all, and she wasn't that great with kids anyway, so she honestly hadn't even tried. But as the day wore on, she'd realized they'd all be getting hungry soon, if they weren't already, and might not be able to fend for themselves. She'd thought about ordering pizza, but she didn't think she had enough money for that and feared the kids would think 'pizza party' meant 'excuse to act even crazier.' So she'd called her dad and gotten his recipe for vegetable soup, packed up Fake Baby Sadie, and gone shopping, then to the common room, where a big pot of soup was now simmering on the stove with a pile of grilled cheese sandwiches on a plate nearby.

"I sure hope there are some hungry kids around here!" she sing-songed as she stirred the soup. "I can't eat this all myself!" Fake Baby Sadie made a burbling noise, and she frowned at her. The thing was really kind of creepy, the more time you spent around it. "Not you. You don't eat real food."

If any hungry big kids wanted to stop by, that would, of course, also be fine, and probably help Petra's sanity.
