Cassidy wasn't hiding in the gardens, except for how she was.

She'd come down very early in the morning, before it was light out, because she hadn't been able to sleep. She'd pulled up a protective yellow shield around herself and started in on pulling weeds and digging in the dirt to move rocks and stones that she didn't think belonged where they were.

She took one break, which would only be called a break if someone was feeling really generous. After that, she continued to weed and dig in the garden. Her hands and knees became scraped up, but she kept working. At some point, she dimly registered aches and pains in her back and shoulders, but it was a pain that kept her from focusing on her thoughts.

When one of the tools broke in her hands from use, she didn't even seem to notice it and just gripped it by the splintered handle and continued to claw and hoe the garden to make sure it was suitable for planting.

When all was said and done, it wasn't really the fact that Stannis was stuck here that bothered him. It wouldn't have been the first time he was dealt a less than pleasant task, and it afforded him the opportunity to showcase his iron sense of duty by accepting his fate and doing what he could to strive despite the clear flaws and irritations of this island.

What he couldn't stand, though, was the constant feeling of having absolutely nothing to do. He would prefer to avoid his room and his awful roommate as much as possible, and one could only stand the library for so long, as well, especially when so many books were so filled with nonsense and there was the clear fact that rather bad things could come from the library.

Thankfully, though, there was also the salle, and Stannis had to admit that he rather liked spending his hours here, battering his sword against the test dummies to hone his skills, which he was sure would one day be of use. It was easy to lose track of some hours in the salle, some hours that Stannis wished he could say he would miss, but he knew better.

Frankly, Terry was still confused about what he missed being out of town last week. Listening to radio podcasts really didn't help matters. He was at the point where he was happy to just ignore it, focus on saving the world with Superman, and spending tonight in front of the TV watching the Olympics.

Of course, that led to stray thoughts about how his Bat-training would actually set him up to be a decent competitor, although that was slightly offset by the fact that he had chips to snack on. Did Olympians snack? Terry didn't know and didn't care enough to do the research. But Batman snacked. And that was good enough for him.
