Castor oil? Check. Pure shea butter? It had taken Sparkle like a full morning of navigating freaking Baltimore in shit-is-it-really-this-hot weather in order to find the damn stuff, but yes, check. Cheap-assed bowl-in-a-pot-of-water double-boiler system? Check. Little containers with lids on them? Check. A spoon and more paper towels than he knew what to do with? Check, check.

Box of Crayolas?

Sparkle was a man on a mission today, after having found a recipe online for non-toxic homemade lipstick in any colour there happened to be a crayon for. He had everything he needed in order to make it, which was surprisingly not all that much stuff at all, and now he was hard at work poking through a box of 64 crayons to figure out which ones he had always secretly wanted to smear all over his lips.
