It was really kind of terrifying to wake up in a place you didn't remember with a roommate you didn't recall and a big blank space where memories tended to be. But, that's what'd happened to Travis this morning. He'd woken up completely devoid of any sort of information about who he was or where he was.

He'd hastily climbed out of his bed and gotten out of the room to try and see if anything outside could jog his memory. The walls of the hallway did nothing. The floor, nothing. Travis made it as far as the common room before stopping.

Something was seriously weird here. He wandered into the larger room and took a seat, switching on the television since that, he figured, would be able to tell him where he was and maybe what date it was. The wallet in his pocket provided his name but he didn't really remember anything else that would make Travis...Travis.

He sighed and reached up to scratch his throat when his fingers bumped over the scar. He kept tracing the scar, eyes going wide at how long and thick it was.

"What the hell happened to me?" he mumbled, breathing a little quicker. "What the hell is this?"

The cartoons on the television weren't telling him a damn thing either. Where the hell was he?

[Open and totally a blank slate!]

Okay, so the waking up with absolutely no idea who or where you were was not fun. Like, at all.

But the part where, in all the flailing around, Alana accidentally worked out she had wings? That was cool. Not as cool as having memories or some idea of what was going on would have been, but cool. Especially when, to go by the people she saw walking around the dorm building, wings seemed a little non-standard.

Of course, it would have been even cooler if she had some idea how to fly. Which she didn't. Shed started out standing in her dorm room, fluttering her wings madly; that hadn't worked, so she'd thought maybe she needed to be outside to get a running start.

A few failures later, she thought maybe she needed a jumping start. Which brought her shinnying up a tree ...

Which lead to her jumping out of the tree, fluttering the wings madly, almost sort of coasting for a foot or two -- and crashing down again. (Ouch.)

"What's the point of wings if you can't even fly with them?" she grumbled, and clambered up the tree once more. She was sure she'd get the trick of it eventually.

The lack of memories and knowledge of who he was had bothered Nathan at first. He didn't even have identification that he could read to figure out who he was so he was completely and entirely clueless. The scars on his body told him nothing but that he apparently was accident prone.

Nathan had realized fairly quickly that he couldn't read anything to help him figure out why he was a complete blank slate of memories so he'd just gone out exploring and nearly fallen right into the ball pit on accident. Neither this Nathan or the Nathan with memories had ever seen something like this and after looking around to make sure no one was near, he'd dove in and come up, laughing.

It felt like swimming but not. Even the slight feeling of nausea and the buzzing in his head could be ignored when he was playing around in a pit of balls. Nathan kept wading through, diving under and then resting on his back like he was floating in some water.

He grinned which was a weird sight on typical Nathan's face but this Nathan didn't care. He could show off his eyes and his scarred skin and not worry about judgment because he didn't know he had to be judged.

He was just going to play in the ball pit. Maybe for another hour (or longer). Another hour in the ball pit, anyone?
