The Gym; Tuesday Afternoon

With nothing else to do, Travis ended up wandering down to the gym. He kept expecting to see faded gym mats propped against the wall which he and Kyle had tended to lean against when gym got too boring or they wanted to avoid getting beaned in the head with dodgeballs.

And while Travis was sure there were gym mats around, it still wasn't the focal point of the gym. He wandered in and just kind of walked around for awhile. Not that aimlessly wandering the gym was really a good use for it but he had other things on his mind.

Eventually, he got his head on straight and went over to the heavy bag. He gave it a push and it swung back towards him. He gave it another, harder push and caught it against his body with a quite 'oof.'

Then, he just took a swing at it. Hard enough to make his hand sting but it felt good. Skateboarding was a great outlet and so were video games but between the surgery, the fan mail, proposing and being rejected by Cate, Kyle and his parents, he just had some anger that had to come out.

So, he channeled that into beating (with not so great technique) on the heavy bag. His hands were going to ache so badly once he was done. And then he'd whine and regret this.
