Although she sometimes wondered if she should, Astrid had never been one to question this place's particular penchant for feeding everyone. There was just something so satisfying in being able to go down to the common room when she was hungry, and, voila!, there was something there, be it an abundance of leftovers or, in the case of today, a plate of latkes that practically had her name on it. And there'd been something earlier actually with her name on it, too, some sort of Secret Santa thing, mysteriously arrived, which seemed to fit the nature of the beast, with another name on it for her to ruminate about, while she settled at the table with her potato pancakes and a some....light reading from her reading list.

Overall, not a bad way to spend a Saturday afternoon, while thinking of maybe going out for a bit later for some sketching and too see what other weird festive stuff might be going on.
