snowdroplaceGoddess, but what a completely wonderful, marvellous day it was!
Elli was nearly radiant as she sat cross-legged on the floor of the common room with a ton of magazines and books about her, all about babies and what they liked and how they grew and what milestones could be expected when and all the things that people bought or made for them. The fact that she had no idea where all of these incredibly on-point research materials had come from didn’t bother her at all today.
She was too happy!
She was good at sewing and knitting—did she have time to make a baby blanket? But, oh what colours should she do it in? Should it be striped or colour-blocked or, or, or?
Elli checked her math for the fifth time (a sad, unfortunate necessity of being on the island meant that the math really was important) and she was pretty sure she had it right, that the baby wasn’t coming until early October, by this world’s time, and that was hopefully enough time to decide what to do…
Oh, maybe she could make booties, instead? Or a little cap? Or all of the above? It wasn’t really spoiling a baby to make sure they had soft things to enjoy, after all…
Of course, though, first things first, she needed to decide upon flowers to send to her parents to congratulate them… baby’s breath would have to be included, of course, but what else? Maybe a bunch of different flowers in pastel colours? That would look sweet, wouldn’t it? Perhaps with a new rattle since Elli wasn’t sure if they still had the one she’d used as a baby…
Oh, goodness, this was the best news! There were so many choices to make and each of them just an absolute delight and joy to ponder!
She was going to be a big sister!
