Dressed in her least favorite, old black leather, with a lurid scarf over her hair, Beka pads past her own room. She spares a brief hope that Lee is feeling better today, before ducking into the halls, head down, on her way shopping to somewhere. There's an awkwardness about her that runs counter to her usual confidence. It's clear she doesn't want to be noticed.

River knocks on the door, stretching her senses to discern whether anyone's within. Nobody's asked me yet, so... I just hope asking first isn't some manner of social faux pas.

Apparently, some very sweet soul Sheppard if you did this I'm probably going to ... kiss you has decided to nominate me for Homecoming Queen.

As I've already promised my support to Cally, I'm not campaigning.

If Cally wins, I'll ask Dierdre to open her house for another one of my infamous girls-only but the guys can come if they want to get laid or whatever parties.

And if by some bizarre chance I win, I'll do the same.

So don't split your votes. Vote for Cally for Homecoming Queen.

Anyhow, thanks. I'm...surprised.

Lana runs out of Professor Beeblebrox's classroom in tears. After rounding the corner she stops and tried to collect herself then sets off walking for... somewhere, anywhere. Just to get away from this crazy place.

Janet is laying on her bed with a book propped in front of her. She's trying to scribble out her Indo-European homework and is swearing under her breath, determined not to go and ask Daniel for tutoring.
[identity profile] valentine-tart.livejournal.com
Beka heads back to her room to tidy up and put Lee's girly things away and hide the stuff she bought for Lee until he's ready to talk. Without looking to see whether he's in there, she closes the door to her bedroom, to give him and her some privacy. If he's there. He'll come out if and when he wants to talk. Or maybe he's already at class.

Janet'll be by at some point, and Cally, and who knows who else. Hopefully Callisto and 'yana won't mind all the company if they need to study.

She hangs a sign on the door that reads:

Door's Open But Keep it Down
Vala, please come back later

Possible smut in here farther down. You've been warned.

Cally? *seats Cally gently at a table and goes to get med kit* Cally, talk to me. What's wrong?

Belthazor headed back to his room after class to meet up with Angelus. Whatever happened at FH this weekend must be a good story if Angelus was so reluctant to share. He couldn't wait to hear what had gone down. This would definitely take his mind off things.

Popcorn, he decided, might be inappropriate.

River perches patiently on a chair arm, with a determined scowl on her face.

Gorram zombies. Gorram gory aftermaths. Gorram two-day DVD rentals.

Everything was prepared. Again. Half a dozen two-liter bottles of soda, napkins, and a bowl of tortilla chips and salsa stood on the table in the back of the room. The DVDs -- Better Off Dead, Real Genius, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Risky Business, License to Drive, The Breakfast Club, Weird Science, 16 Candles, Heathers, and a handful of others that had looked promising -- were laid out on the end table between the comfortable chair and the sofa.

Now all I need is some guests. And possibly some alcohol. If no-one shows, I'm definitely not going to go through this sober.

You know what upsets me more than anything? Seeing my sisters in pain. When Phoebe came to me in tears last night, it was painful to watch. She told me she had been seeing someone named Cole and that he cheated on her with some skank. She told me she thought she had found love with this person.

Being the older sister ready to kick the ass of the person who hurt her so badly, I demanded that she tell me who he was and where he lived. She didn't want to tell me. Eventually, she dealt the crushing blow. "You know him as Belthazor," she said. She must have noticed some sort of reaction from me. I know I was fighting back my own tears. I couldn't fall apart on her, though. She actually told me she was sorry because she knew I had feelings for him. And that's when I started crying. I hugged her and told her she did nothing wrong, that I was crying because I hated seeing her in pain. It was the partial truth. I couldn't tell her that it felt like my heart, too, had been stomped on.

How could I tell her? Finding out he was cheating on her with some random chick was bad enough. I wanted to tell her at first. I wanted to tell her she wasn't alone. I wanted to get my feelings out, too. But I just couldn't do that to her. It would devastate her more than she already was.

She wanted me to promise not to confront him. I told her I couldn't keep that promise.

Maia stood in the middle of her dorm room, DNA diagrams all around her from [livejournal.com profile] equalsmcsquared's class that afternoon. She had checked a DNA strand model out of the library earlier that day, having however just dropped the model on the floor. Little pieces of the toothpick looking model was now in pieces all around her.

It had to be the DNA model, it couldn't be a simple structure NO it had to be DNA!! Maia sighs as she crawls halfway under the bed to retrieve a piece.

Common Room

*DEATH, for those inclined to see such things, can be seen walking down the hall towards the Common Room, wearing a red wig and a floral robe. He scythe is adorned with streamers that read "DEATH FOR HOMECOMING QUEEN." He seems to have become more flamboyant since his nomination for homecoming, attempting to prove that he is "fashionable and sexy". He sits down at a table, with a stack of teenage fashion magazines, and begins to read, attempting to educate himself and further his campaign. Those that cannot see him note the magazines, which occassionally turn pages, and a sense of dread that seems sunnier than usual.*
