nadiathesaint: (grin)
[personal profile] nadiathesaint
No workshops plus what was ultimately a pretty good couple of days meant that Nadia was in a rather ridiculously good mood as she lounged on the couch in the common room watching a show that was either for very young children, or very stoned people.

She wanted to change the channel, but the pile of very cute, yet very clingy kittens on top of her wouldn't let her.

There was a full plate of fresh pineapple empanadas for sharing, especially if someone could reach the remote without getting kitten-mobbed.

[ooc: ooooooopen!]

After the debacle of Wilderness Survival, Parker headed back to the dorms, considering hiding staying in her suite until the meeting in Rory's room. On her way past the second floor common room, though, she stopped, arrested by what she saw.

Angela, Zero, and Z were all seated at a long table behind a pane of ceiling-to-floor glass. )
"The Centre is everywhere, Parker. You know that," Sydney chided her.

"They're not here. They're not. I'd know if this was happening, so this isn't real. They'd warn me...." The glass disappeared from under her fingers, and Parker stared around the common room. Then she sat down on the floor, her head in her hands A small kitten wandered in, then another. She didn't move as they started mewing and butting against her.

[ooc: come on in and talk to a dazed, barefoot Parker She's gone now, but the CR is here for all your common room needs]

After work, Jude had headed back towards the dorm with a couple of kitties in his pockets but he seemed to have avoided most of the plague. He sprawled over a couch in the common room, his eyes drifting closed in a pre-work nap.

Then the kitties appeared. First one, then a few more, curling up on his chest or sprawling over an outflung limb until very soon Jude resembling nothing more than a furry, purring, slowly rising and falling mound on a couch.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwww . . .

Cameron was in the gym early, warming up already. He seemed pretty focussed on the weight lifting he was doing as his mind went through last night's conversation with Aeryn and the weird email Rory had sent out the evening before.

((Gym's open. The thread between Veronica and Cameron is locked.))

Nadia is still on the couch, presumably, since there's still a mound of kittens there, and the TV is still on, and she hasn't been seen anywhere else.

The mound of kittens appears to be sleeping. Which would be what the teenaged girl beneath them is doing, too. One teenaged girl hand dangles over the edge of the couch. One lone black kitten lay on its back on the floor, batting at her fingers.

It caught one, was confused, then bit down.

A muffled "ow," could be heard.

The black kitten started cleaning the finger.

[ooc: open. She's likely to be on that couch all day.]

After Outdoorsmanship Sawyer made his way to the third floor common room, he wanted to see if Tempe was going to come by because he honestly missed her.

He was lounging on the couch with the remote in hand, flicking through the reality shows with a bored yawn.

[[ OPEN like an opened thing being open. ]]

Conner was taking his computer homework seriously, so when he noticed that the second floor common room was empty he lost no time heading in and taking over a couch. What better way to "spread the geeky love" in a hurry? It was the working theory, anyway.

He had his laptop open and the USB mini-aquarium plugged in, bubbling and glowing away. ESPNews was on the TV, but he wasn't paying much attention, because it was recapping golf at the moment. Yawn.

There was supposed to be a soccer game on later tonight, though, so that was a bonus. It was only MLS, but that was going to have to do. The World Cup wouldn't start until the next day.

The throbbing in her head down to a mostly non-existent ache, Tempe was finally ready to actually do something with her day. Of course, the day was pretty much over, but she didn't really care.

So, she sat on the floor of the common room, glass of pineapple juice next to her on the floor, putting together puzzles on the coffee table.

The current puzzle was a 750-piece map of the world. She was a little more than halfway through, and enjoying herself immensely.

She wouldn't mind some company, if anyone was up this late.

[OOC: Open! Feel free to help put together the puzzle. Also? Until the puzzle is completed, it will be taking up that table in the common room. Try to work around it, if you're in there later. Whee!]

Tempe tossed and turned on the couch as she slept fitfully. To any passersby, it would appear that she was in some form of distress. Her arms were flailing and her sleepy voice could be heard saying, "No! No! Don't hurt the kitties! Don't hurt the weetiny kitties!"

Her empty pineapple juice glass sat on the floor, her puzzle sat on the coffee table. It was evident she'd finally given up finishing the puzzle last night, and had crawled onto the couch with a blanket to get some sleep.

"No! Not the weetiny--"

A loud meow right next to her ear jolted her out of her sleep. "Kitty?" she said sleepily.

The weetiny grey kitten with soulful brown eyes crawled onto her chest, and proceeded to bat her chin with one of its weetiny paws.

"Where'd you come from?" Tempe said, sitting up slightly on the couch and scooping the kitten into her hands. The kitten just stared back, looking cute. "Guess you're not a talking cat like Faithful then, huh?"

She lay back down, settling into the pillows and cradling the weetiny kitty close. The kitty clung to her like a clinging thing. She grinned.

She closed her eyes and prepared to go back to sleep. She felt another weight settle on her chest. She opened her eyes to see a golden-colored kitten curled up next to the grey one, its blue eyes shining brightly.

Again, she grinned, then yawned, and fell back to sleep.

As such, she didn't see the small army of weetiny kitties making their way into the room and settling in various places around her. At her feet, on her feet, on her head...

[OOC: Open for interaction, of course.]
