School Grounds, Monday Evening (Just Outside the Garage)
Tuesday, October 31st, 2006 04:19 amThanks to Bridge (and Conner, apparently), Anders had a new toy. It might not have been capable of spaceflight the way the original models apparently were, but Anders was okay with that because hey, it still went fast. So he'd done a little work tricking it out with a Buccaneers logo, then taken off for the mainland. There he'd spent most of the evening doing some shopping -- a fast new ride required proper gear, after all -- and returned with boots, a helmet, gloves, leather pants, and a biker jacket. So what if his ride wasn't a bike? The gear would serve the same function and look damned cool on top of that.
Protective gear taken care of, it was time to learn to ride. Anders didn't dare open up the throttle all the way, especially since he had no idea what exactly the Glider's maximum speed would be though he figured it was pretty far up there. So for now, he was taking it slow -- just coasting back and forth a few feet, learning how to accelerate, brake, and turn. He thought he had the hang of it already, but despite his impatience to really test out the Glider he was a firm believer in getting the fundamentals down.
So -- coast a few accelerating feet, slow to a stop, turn, do it again. It wasn't exhilarating, but still pretty fun.
[OOC: Open -- feel free to gawk at the weird jet-hoverboardy Glider or talk to the boy if'n you want.]
