The tree was lobbing candy canes at people.

Gently, but it seemed determined that people share in its bounty of striped candilicious goodness.

Fifth Floor Common Room, Monday Afternoon

Taking advantage of the near desertion of the dorms, and the fact that she had all but one of her presents ready, Ino had wandered into the common room and was now sprawled on the floor surrounded by plant magazines and books, and was making notes on a pad of lined paper as she looked through them. She also had what looked suspiciously like a blue print of Wellspring Arms and Meditation Center. What? Cable-san didn't mind the plants.

Making another note, Ino hummed as she worked. A plate of Christmas cookies were close by for ease of nibbling on them while she thought.

The preserve and up to the dorms, Monday late afternoon

Even with so many people leaving for the holidays or wherever they were headed, the dorms felt too closed-in to Jaina. So as soon as she started feeling restless and having overthinky thoughts, she took the easy way out and went for a walk. Sitting around to emo wasn't really her style.

The tree was humming to itself - Christmas carols, of all kinds - and moping, just a little bit.

Its branches were drooping, its candy canes seemed somehow less stripy, and it let out an occasional sigh mid-carol.

Whenever anyone came near it, it perked up, humming louder, and offered one of the gingerbread figures which had appeared over night.

Some of them were...interesting.
