"Sometimes staying safe means that you have be aware of your surroundings," said Hoshi. "It's easy to get distracted by talking on the phone or text messaging when you're walking around on your own. In a sense, it feels safer because you're connected to someone else. The problem is that you miss the all the other signs that may otherwise tell you to beware. Today we're going to practice being silent and aware. Pair up with someone else, watch them silently, and try to figure out what's going through their mind."

She paused for a moment before adding, "Of course, if the silence is too much for you, there's still the punching bags."

Hannibal kind of loved having no classes on Mondays. Having an extended weekend every week made his life a little easier and his sleep a lot longer.

So, having just woken up a few hours ago (yeah, really), he'd ordered a pizza, once it arrived, had taken it down to the common room. He wasn't planning on eating the pizza immediately.

Quiet nights like this called for made up games of umbrella sock golf. After he'd hauled the pizza down to the common room, he went and retrieved his umbrella and a clean pair of socks.

And now he was hitting them around the common room, trying to hit certain targets. So far, he'd gotten two out of six targets. He was kind of bad at this game.

[Oooopen! LJ outage is tomorrow so I play tonight!]

If anyone asked why Cal was watching TV in the second floor common room, it was not because he was avoiding people on his own floor to hide a secret passion. It was simply because God only knew what Hannibal was doing with all the socks in the fourth floor common room.

If anyone asked why Rumor Gal was on the TV, it was not because Cal was harboring a secret passion, but merely because someone must have accidently left it on, and Cal was too lazy to bother changing it.

Ahem.

[[ duh, open. My character is almost as addicted as I am ]]
