Fifth floor common room, Saturday evening

After detention there had been some time to check messages and figure out if there was anything she needed to catch up on after spending her morning cleaning up alligator parts, and then she'd gone for the second shower. Her priorities were a bit skewed, but 'ew' was 'ew'.

Since she had some time on her hands, she settled into the common room of her apparently adopted floor with popcorn and her comlink on the table in front of her, flipping through channels and being really glad that Scifi's monster movies tonight had nothing to do with lizards.

Fourth Floor Common Room, Saturday Evening (6:45 on)

After oh so handwavey lightsaber training and some time down at the shooting range, like yesterday hadn't been practice enough, Tahiri had gone back up to her room to find a message from home waiting for her, asking if she could look over the file that had been sent to her datapad and give them some feedback. She felt a little guilty about taking her sweet time about it, the last few times she'd been asked to provide some insight on the Yuuzhan Vong perspective, but she decided that she could use some background noise in the process, and bad sci-fi movies weren't the kind she was looking for.

So she headed one floor down with her datapad in hand, staked a claim on the couch, and turned the TV on, flipping through random channels. Halfway through the sports channels she caught a bit of a pregame show.

" -- Los Angeles Sol squaring off against the Saint Louis Athletica, with a pair of national team superstars in goal: Canada's Karina LeBlanc for the Sol, and for the Athletica, U.S. Olympic gold medalist Hope Solo . . ."

Tahiri took her thumb off the channel-up button.

[OOC: I was supposed to be at this game today. I have only been looking forward to this game all season. My car is in the shop and won't be ready in time. This game is not actually being televised, and I am cranky about that, but by god I am gonna mod a broadcast to make myself feel better about it. Also, if you think I've been looking for an excuse to do this forever you would be right. Open like a common room, and I'm a dork but I'll gladly admit it.]

The roof seemed like the appropriate place to be. Her room was... well, there was the chance that Alex (her roommate, of course) might wander in. And it was filled with things, her things, things she didn't want to look at right now.

Instead, she fiddled with her phone, ( trying to get the text message that had been sitting there for two days OPEN. )

Ashes. Everything tasted like ashes again and she didn't know what to do, who to talk to. If her aunt Dallas could find her to send her a message, she probably shouldn't call her father on this line, just the room phone. She shouldn't--

Fiona tugged at her hair and leaned against the edge of the roof, eyes closed.

This just wasn't her weekend.

The week before, Leto had been given a DVD by professor Mitchell, which was supposed to clarify certain questions Leto had had regarding British comedy. He hadn't had the opportunity to watch this until now. So this evening Leto was seated on the couch in front of the TV, watching Dark Serpent, the frown on his face increasing.

"Great Maker, are they insane?"
