"Okay, guys," Zack said, stepping to the forefront of the Reserves meeting and grinning, his hands on his hips. "Today we're going to follow the lead of the Magic Reserves, and start focusing on sharing the more specific talents of the people in this group. But with a twist! While plenty of the stuff that they have over in the Magic corps is specific to just the person giving the demonstrations, the benefit to working physically is that plenty of the skills that each of us have can be taught to one another! Maybe you've got proficiency in a weapon that nobody else here seems to know, or else you've got awesome tracking skills and think that we could stand to learn how to use them, too! Or you might have something as simple as a training exercise that you've seen put to use back home that you think we could benefit from, here. If you have something to share with the group, I'm sure we'd all be thankful that you offered up the time to teach us!"

Zack, for example, would teach the group the fine art of smuggling cookies into serious meetings of an almost militaristic nature. The trick, of course, was to leave them in his pockets and give them to people who asked nicely.

And Arthur would be onto him eventually. He was just keeping an eye out. "So if you are prepared to share, step up to us this week. You may bring your own tale to the front this week, give us a demonstration, and please come up to have a word with us if you would like to demonstrate some time in the coming weeks, or would be willing to offer your services in training, or leading the reserves through a training exercise. We are here to learn from each other as best we can, and so each other is the best resource we've got."

He gave a nod to those gathered, then took a step back. Only to take a step back later to give his own round-up.

After returning to Fandom in the morning, Kate had slept through most of Monday. The only major disruption to her slumber had been a handwavy visit to the clinic to get checked out in case of internal injury from the crash. She thought it was unnecessary, but she’d been persuaded to go anyway. She was okay, of course, and had returned back to her bed and blissful unconsciousness as soon as they’d let her.

So, Tuesday morning, after nearly 24 hours of sleep, Kate was wide awake, and baking chocolate chip muffins in the common room. The muffins were a make-up assignment for a missed cooking class, and would also serve well as breakfast for her and whoever else happened to wander by.

Baking also distracted her from worrying about Bobby. She wasn’t even sure whether he’d left during the weekend, or if she’d been too preoccupied with her own things to notice the note on Friday. It was worrying, all the same.

Kate wasn't sleepy anymore, but she was still kind of exhausted, which would explain why she was slumped in a chair in front of the oven, keeping an eye on the last batch of muffins.

Liir had considered doing his work in the common room kitchen, but he'd come to enjoy the space and the utilities available up on the sixth floor.

...plus Makejoy really liked to wander around and sniff at the newly renovated floors, the new furnishing, and all the different things while he worked, which was a lovely distraction whenever he was doing something that didn't require too much of his attention.

Today's work was caramels, something he'd only really done once and even then as more of an experiment than anything. Swirling them with other things, covering them with chocolate, flavoring them with liquor; some of them came out well, while a few of his experiments just hadn't quite panned out. Either way, the sugary sweetness on the air was almost as satisfying as twisting the wax paper around the best results.
