Hannibal didn't know if anyone was scheduled to set up for cheerleading practice but, since he was down there, he didn't see anything wrong with doing it. So, out came the mats, on came the music and down went Hannibal to start stretching.

All right, maybe laying down and relaxing was a more accurate description of what Hannibal was doing but he was stretching every so often. It counted.

There were plenty of treats to make up for the lack of a meeting last week. Well, that and everyone jut deserved sweet things for their efforts against GODZILLA. It was their just rewards.

"Hello everyone! Welcome back to the reserve. Today we'll be discussing how things went last week," Merlin said with a bright smile. "What worked, what didn't work... you know."

"You know what doesn't work?" Karla asked sullenly. "Getting turned into a stuffed version of the monkey-pony creatures all weekend and being stuck in your room. That's not useful at all."

"Turning into a stuffed animal - not helpful," Tony said, pretending to take notes.

...Merlin wasn't going to laugh. Really. It would be cruel to laugh. "...yes." That was a sneeze. Yes. "That's generally a bad idea."

And that wasn't a glare, Karla was directing at her fellow co-Leaders. It was a...non-glaring yet intense look. Or something. "So besides the stuffed creature thing, what other issues can we come up with?" she asked. Not through clenched teeth, really.

"It'd probably help not to turn into live animals, either," Tony suggested. "Or trees."

"But we would never hold that against people!" Merlin added quickly. "So, how about we discuss?"

Jaina had managed to heal up the soreness and most of the bruising from Sunday, though she'd learned it was not yet time to get rid of the sling. Nor was it a reason to say she was going to try training just a little bit.

It'd been a rough lesson, let's say that.

So without training to do and no classes today, she was in the common room in front of the TV. Somehow she'd stopped on a Maury episode, and while she meant to change the channels, she was left staring at the people's reactions to all the paternity test results.

[What, I love those eps. Open like a common room, with a warning that I'm home sick and sleep would be awesome if I could manage it.]

Elena looked sheepish this week. And was trying not to scuff her toes and change the subject.

"So," she said. "Last week was a really good example of why sometimes it's good to have safety measures, like making sure your weapon is disarmed. Because you never know when you might turn paranoid from the fog, or make bad decisions in a heightened emotional state."

Like, say, running after Don Corneo by yourself, and ending up tied to a Wutaian monument. Hypothetically.

"So what failsafes should we have, as gun owners and users, to make sure we're responsible with them? And to make sure we don't end up hurting someone? That's today's topic, and then we can get back to shooting."

Okay, so Bobby had spent most of the day after class hiding out in his room and generally sulking (and partaking of the candy his roommate had mentioned, thank you Kate) and by evening was actually feeling something resembling sociable.

Which is why he dragged his still kinda achey self out to the common room with a pint of double-chocolate-fudge ripple ice cream. Bruised ribs meant there was less flopping on the couch and more sitting down carefully as he grabbed the remote and flipped through channels until settling on To Kill a Murderer.

Garrison Steele might be a hack writer, but the movies made from his books were the gear sauce at least kind of entertaining.
