Another week, another Reserves meeting! Do try to contain your excitement.

... Someone has to, because Zack is doing that bouncing on his toes thing again, and so he obviously won't be the one to do it, here.

"Hi, guys! I guess you probably all noticed the kids, huh? Were any of you wondering over the weekend what you would have done if something had hit the island during the weekend? I mean, plenty of the kids that show up are handfuls when there isn't anything huge going on, just imagine them trying to run headfirst into an invasion of big, hungry things. That would be... pretty bad."

Yes, Zack. That was a good way to put it.

Maladicta's eye twitched at that. Because really, Zack. Really. You were too Zack-like for your own good sometimes. "So we will be discussing plans for protecting those who aren't as inclined toward a fight as we are. The dorms appear to be safe, but that may not always be the case."

"Especially if you let your kids have a lot of sugar," Kennedy added. Right. Focus, Kennedy. "...anyway. If getting people to stay inside and letting the magic users ward the dorms isn't an option-- say the dorms are possessed by a poltergeist and trying to kill us or something-- what are we gonna do to keep them safe?" Though, you know, hopefully nobody would be making that happen here. (Out of control frat party, her ass.)

"Is there anything that you guys know of from where you're from, that has been used to protect people who aren't capable of doing so? Especially in crazy situations where maybe they're not used to their surroundings either?" Zack bounced on his toes one more time, for good measure. "Or any ideas that you have, just from being here on the island and knowing the terrain yourself? What do we have around here that we can use to our advantage? What might get in the way? What's it going to take to keep your kids safe, or maybe your parents, or even one another, if something hits when we're all kids, too? Come on, guys, I know you're all smart, so let's hear some ideas!"

It was the Valentine's chocolate. It had to be.

Kate had probably never needed a hug this bad in her entire life. So of course she was in the salle bright and early, stabbing and slashing at practice dummies. That made perfect sense, didn't it?

Last night after the portal in the park, Kate had come back to the dorms, turned off her phone despite it telling her she had a couple of voicemails, taken a quick shower, and then just fallen into her bed, completely wiped out. Sleep had come quickly, but she was still exhausted when she woke up. It was all emotional, though, and that was why she'd come down here, and was also fully intending to stay here all the way until lunchtime. Combating emotional exhaustion with its physical counterpart was totally healthy, really. So was tiring herself out so she wouldn't even notice who was in class with her after lunch.

She'd stuck a note (Down in the salle, K) on her own door on the off chance anyone would want to find her. Not that she didn't expect anyone who knew anything about how she dealt with stress these days to know the salle was an excellent guess. She also trusted people she didn't want to see right now to not come looking for her.

Yesterday was not how her supremely non-romantic Valentine's Day was supposed to go. So die, dummies. Die.

[ooc: The post is open for all your salle/Kate-bothering needs! I'll be AFK for a class in my afternoon, but other than that I should be aroooound all day.]

When the sorority members arrived in the rec room today, they'd find only Emma, perched comfortably with a smirk in the comfiest chair. "We were going to discuss sexual education today," she said briskly. "But since Quinn is busy sleeping off the consequences of her choices - it was a charming child, I'm sure - I'm going to usurp the meeting today to call attention to our mission as a sorority."

"Kappa Delta Gremlin was founded as a service-oriented sorority aimed at promoting self-esteem and life skills for female, or female-identifying, Fandom students. Now, what 'service-oriented' means is that the money we earned in the bake sale is going to go towards paying expenses for a larger fundraiser, not more spa trips."

She leaned over and picked up some official-looking pamphlets off the floor and started passing them around. "Now, Kappa Delta, our parent sorority, supports four national philanthropies: Girl Scouts of the USA, Prevent Child Abuse America, the Children's Hospital of Richmond, Virginia, and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Research Awards. Quinn and I are looking at holding both a Fun Run and a date auction to try to raise money for one of these organizations, and you can participate in either or both events."

"Another activity options is that every Kappa Delta collegiate chapter holds an annual "Shamrock Event" to raise money for Prevent Child Abuse America, as well as a local children's philanthropy of their chapter's choice. We, however, have not selected a charity to support as a group."

"I'd like us to discuss as a group which of the four nationals we'd like to focus on, or if there's a charity closer to home that we think is a better fit for us. Thoughts?"

[OOC: OCD up, missing Quinn modded with permissions.]

So, Ramona and Tony had had a bet. Or a dare. Whatever, same kind of thing. It had taken her entirely too long, but she had washed the dye out of her hair, and actually added a nice little brown sheen to it, but nevertheless, it was her natural color.

She thought it looked weird -- and not like her at all -- but whatever, she was the clear winner here. And why was that? Because of the boy in the towel.

Even if he was refusing to remove it. She knew what color his hair was under there. Which was why she'd dragged Tony out to the common room, to 'socialize.'

Look, even if Ramona preferred having her hair in pinks or turquoises or oranges or whatever, she knew she was going to get a lot less laughter thrown her way. And it was all his fault for (a) agreeing, and (b) letting her pick the color. Oh, Tony.

So she'd turned on the TV in an effort to pretend like she was doing something other than making fun of poor, innocent, pink-haired Tony, but really, she was keeping an eye on him to keep him from bolting, and on the door to see who would come to look.

[open common room is open! Ramona is a brunette for the time being, and Tony will have pink hair, yes. :)]
