This whole not having classes thing wasn't Wesley's favorite thing in the world, but whatever, he'd deal. The effect of not having any work to do was that he found himself in the common room with absolutely nothing to keep him occupied. He wandered around the room for a bit, then happened upon a shelf of books in the storage closet. That was a little random, but okay.

He eventually came up with a textbook. Written in Portuguese. Okay, sure. Learning Portuguese seemed as good a way to spend the day as any.

[[common room is, of course, open. this is me studying. shh.]]

The package had been waiting for her when she'd returned to her room. After a long moment of staring at the accompanying note, Dru decided not to think about what it meant. Instead she turned her attention to the package, carefully undoing the wrapping and lifting the slightly curved blades out of the box.

A quick voicemail later, she was on her way to the Salle to try out her graduation gift.

Anyone entering the Salle would find Dru experimenting with her new Malaika.

[Malaika are the completely made-up, traditional weapon of a Svetocha. They're a pair of slightly curved hawthorn wood blades. Think something like escrima sticks with a sharp edge.]
