It was Alana's turn to man the Student Council Valentine's Day sales table, and she was not precisely overjoyed by this. The fireplace made it slightly less frigid in the lobby than it could have been, but Alana still wasn't a fan of the dark or cold. The one teensy blessing was that Jethro-the-droid seemed to be sleeping through it all.

She flipped through a magazine with gloved hands and dreamed of warmer days.

Okay, it was cold both outside and inside. Travis was pretty sure there was an icicle or two growing off his hair but he was going to try and make the best of it. Not that it was easy to make the best of a snowstorm and a power outage but doing something was better than doing nothing while freezing.

After his classes, he'd grabbed a bag of marshmallows from the refrigerator, jiggered up a few things that looked like sticks and used the fireplace in the common room as it should be used: to make s'mores.

So, he got to sit in front of the fireplace and be warm (though his several layers of clothes probably helped too) and he got to have delicious sweets. His cheeks were already a nice shade of pink by the time the first s'more was done.

Now he just had to hope that the fireplaces didn't disappear. That would suck.
