howareyanow: (cooking time)
[personal profile] howareyanow
Wayne had spent a good deal of time, when he got to the common room early that morning to get breakfast going before he had to mosey on over to his class, just sort of squinting into the fridge, occasionally leaking a disconsolate growl-grumble about it, because what he had expected to be in the fridge was not in the fridge, which was a problem, because Wayne didn't particularleh like it when things didn't go as expected.

But he'd convinced himself that he'd be making a very Thanksgiving-themed breakfast that morning, on account of all the leftovers he'd expected (and confirmed having existed all throughout the weekend) to be in the fridge that morning. Only to show up, ready to whip up a Thanksgiving-specific menu, and discover that all the leftovers....were gone.

Another grumble escaped him, because wouldn't it jus' figgur? As soon as he prepares himself fer this sort of thing, the island goes and switches it up on him.

At least, that's what he figgured it was. It made more sense than the idea that anyone had actually eaten all of it by now...

So it was back to a solid, basic, typical breakfast that morning, while Wayne tried hard to not be too disappointed about it.

[[ open breakfast is open! And lacking in leftovers! ]]
