Lydia took it back. Winter in Maryland was worse than winter in Newcastle, although as long as she stayed indoors it didn't signify. The heating here was simply marvelous, and in Newcastle she often hadn't had the money for coal--which, considering it was Newcastle, was saying something.

Fortunately, she had much to occupy her time, such as sleeping in before venturing to the common room to put her modern tea-making skills to use whilst hoping someone else had made breakfast so she wouldn't have to venture to the cafeteria. She was certain there would be a box of "cereal" left unattended at the very least, but she hadn't figured out the appeal of the stuff yet.
