Adam had finally arrived. He had made sure to check in, sample some apple pie and then dropped his belongings off handwavily at the cabin he'd been assigned to.

Now, he had decided to explore a little, starting with the dorms and the grounds. He wanted to get a feel for this place. So far, so good.

Adam had a feeling he was going to be meeting some interesting folks as the day went on.

[OOC: For the Power Rangers of Fandom! Kind of short, sorry... writer's block sucks.]

Lana had woken up early so she'd gotten some stuff together and headed out to the cabins to claim a spot for her and Jim. She walked into Minotaur and dropped their stuff in B3 and B4, figuring they could sleep in B3 and leave most of their stuff in the other room.

She hoped she'd be able to find her Little Sister at some point today and see if she could help her settle in.

Buffy was headed down to the campgrounds with her suitcase. The suitcase was full to the point of looking like it would burst open any second now. Walking with her was a blanket. "Don't worry, Bertie," Buffy said comfortingly, reaching down to pat a tentacle. "I'm sure our cabin will like you a lot."

open!

Ronan sat at the firepit outside of Jackalope, ignoring the world around him as he stared at the place where the fire would be. He'd stopped off at his dorm room just long enough to set up his voicemail, but hadn't bothered dropping anything off, for when your duffle bag holds everything you're carrying -- not matter how much that is -- without growing any heavier, you don't exactly worry about carting it all around. So, instead, he'd come out to the cabins (not that the map had been all that much help), dropped his bag off in Jackalope A, left the decision of which alcove to take until later, and come out to sit here. To stare at the not-fire.

Clearly, Ronan just needs to get laid someone to come by and say hello.

(OOC: Open like an open thing. Warning: Some varieties of Ronan may contain large amounts of minerals Sullen and Angry. Sample at own risk. ^_~)

ETA: And, uh, I totally didn't forget to put what TIME the post was occuring in the subject not at all.

Once she finally hauled herself and her stuff down to Pixie cabin (which, she was sorry, still felt a bit wrong), Sam, dressed in shorts and a tank top, stretched out on a lawn chair with a large glass of iced tea and a few physics journals to soak in the sun.

[ooc: Post is open to anyone walking by.]

Okay, he'd decided that he really didn't like the little bit of travelling from Twilight Town upriver on the boat. He'd have taken the train any day, but apparently it didn't go to the mainland.

Luckily, the journey from the mainland to the school had been easier. Land, she is good. No bumpy, gross waves. (Nevermind that he'd spent a half an hour in the bathroom on the boat throwing up. He's 16 years old. He's not going to admit to that.)

And now, even more land!

And checking in.

And a lot of pie. Which he bypassed. Still kind of queasy.

So instead of pie, which he'd probably regret later because the last thing he'd had to eat was an ice cream before leaving town, he was trying to follow the badly-drawn map he'd been given to find the campgrounds.

Strangely, or perhaps not, it was easier than it looked. Stuff had been dropped off, and now he was just wandering.

Kind of weird, to be wandering all alone after preparing to spend the summer with your friends.

[OOC: Open like an open thing! But be gentle with the newbie!]

After a morning spent packing and looking around for her new "little sibling" - how did you pronounce that name anyway? Bail? Ba-hall? Ball? Ba-some weird tongue click-al? Plus she didn't even know if it was a boy or a girl yet - Molly finally headed to the cabins.

She had found Katara there already and after the two of them had done a minimum of unpacking they decided to go outside to sit in the sun and watch for new kids, hoping that maybe their little siblings would find them.

[[Open! Especially for any newbies or little sibling types who may be around and want to play.]]

Karal had checked in, taken one look at all the people, and quickly led Trenor away from the mob. Thanks to the map he'd been given the stables were easy to find, and empty, as it turned out, for which he was deeply thankful.

Altra was exhausted from the jump and was curled on a hay bale, tail twitching idly, while Karal untacked Trenor. Robes were not the right clothes to be wearing, but they were what he had on and he wasn't ready to find his room and change into something else.

Breathing in the familiar scents of horse and hay while he pitched straw into the stall, he relaxed slightly. Stables, at least, were the same everywhere. It wouldn't take him long to get his horse settled in, but he'd be happy if it took all day.

::You have to leave here sometime::

"I know I do." He'd thought Altra was asleep. "But not yet."

The only response was a yawn from the 'cat and an impatient whicker from Trenor, who'd apparently had enough of Karal's procrastination.

[ooc: open if you like! The cat looks like a largish siamese cat, and no one can hear him but Karal.]

Henry drug his trunk into the B side of the cabin, and all but collapsed onto it. It was way too heavy, and the contents too fragile, for such a long haul. After taking a minute to rest, he set up his bed (he took A4, and hoped that it wasn't wrong of him to choose without asking), and put away his clothing.
When he was finished, Henry pulled out a book and waited. He was excited to meet his cabinmates.

[ooc: Both the door and the post are open, both to cabinmates(Eeee, Ami and Setsuna!), and anyone stopping by.]

After John managed to stop gaping at the wall cutting A-3 off from the cabin and unpack his things, John drug a couple chairs out to the campfire and lit it.  It wasn't dark yet, but a fire was good ambiance for people watching.  At least, he thought they were people.  John sat down and opened War and Peace to page three.  He was right on schedule.

[OOC: Open to all!]

Dawn had spent part of the afternoon lugging her stuff down to the cabin (stupid books and journals and laptops were heavy, darn it) and had set herself up in A3 as long as no one else objected, not wanting to be by the bathroom but also realizing that Sam would probably want to set himself up between her and the door.

Silly boy.

So, she was now outside, armed with a can of Deep Woods Off that she sprayed at anything that looked like a mosquito and a journal, where she was trying to catch up on what had been going on lately. If she got the energy together, she might even build a fire, but for now she was eating raw s'mores--which was basically chocolate, graham crackers, and untoasted marshmallows.

[ooc: Open for all, but especially cabinmates!]

Johnny spent the afternoon putting most of his stuff away, the rest he spent lazily sprawling on his bed. What? Unpacking was tiring work.

Now though, he wanted to have a little fun around the campfire. And since theirs didn't seem to be lit yet, he took the opportunity to blast a few fire rays at it and set it to burning quickly.

Then, pulling up a lounge chair, he sat down, slouching a bit and stretched his long legs out in front of him. "This is the life. Now if I just had a beer."

[totally open!]

After making sure her replicates had set up her things in Chimera A4 is that okay with everybody? to her satisfaction, Z headed out to the campfire to see what was to be seen and finish off the last of her stolen pie. Mmm, pie.

((Open, as campfires tend to be.))

It had been one long, exciting and nerve wracking first day in Fandom. Even after experiencing quite a range of reactions to this place and stories he'd been told, Adam was really glad he had decided to come here.

He had finished unpacking and setting up, Adam was now relaxing and enjoying the outdoors. He was slightly nervous about the upcoming workshops, but hopefully by then, he'd know people that were taking the same ones he'd chosen.

[OOC: Campfire is OPEN! Besides, this seemed like the popular thing to do. ;)]
