Savannah had -- for once -- woken up early. Quickly realizing that her being restless in the cabin might irritate her cabin mates -- and the new friends she was making -- she had opted for ducking outside the cabin with her leather bound journal and a book. Thankfully, she had chosen one of the grimoires that she and Paige had put a book cover, making it look like some boring textbook.

Now, she was sitting in a canvas chair and writing notes in her journal -- even as she was thinking about last night's still being played out date with Johnny Storm. He was pretty and fun, and it had been kind of sweet that he thought he might need to protect her. Eve would bust a gut laughing about a teenage guy thinking that she needed protection.

Then again...

If he was one of the guys here that had powers, it might be nice to know, just in case anything bad happened -- or came after her.

It was a good thing no one had overheard them talking about him only using his alcove to sleep... yet. She didn't want to imagine how Eve might have reacted to that.

She should really seek out Wyatt and Tannim again, too. She had enjoyed talking with them and there was something about Wyatt that reminded her of Adam.

Ami had a good night of no nightmares and woke up early and refreshed. She couldn't wait to tell Henry about the shack. It was totally usable!

Now she was sitting in a canvas chair, looking around at the chirping birds, and realizing that not only had she not done anything with her Little Sister, she hadn't really met any new students yet. Oops. She really needed to fix that. As soon as she could muster the energy to get up. The chair was more comfy then she had previously thought.

Sam wasn't used to not having classes every day, and not having to worry about his workshops until tomorrow was making him feel weird. So, he went out by the campfire to get some fresh air and read one of the books he'd gotten for his birthday.

It's just before classes, and Roxas is sitting outside the cabin, shoes and jacket lying beside him as he eats a bowl of breakfast cereal and tries to soak up what little sun there is this early in the morning.

He's finding that it's actually kinda nice here - nowhere near as busy as Twilight High's Summer classes would be, but he's also finding that he doesn't much mind that it's not crammed to the brim with stuff to do.

Which is why, in a rare moment of sunshine from behind the clouds, he smiles.

After chatting with his brother and Dawn, Dean wandered back over to his own cabin, grabbed a soda and some campfire friendly food and settled down outside intent on just kicking back and relaxing.

[ooc: for cabinmates and anyone else who wants to stop by. campfire munchies completely shareable and modable]

Isabel had started a fire and was currently roasting a marshmallow to a perfect degree of doneness. Chocolate and graham crackers sat nearby for s'mores. And there were plenty for sharing.

Aeryn couldn't sleep and didn't want to wake John up, so she went for an early run. It was barely light, and it was a little different route than she usually took since she wasn't in the dorms, which is why she went past where there was some electrical work going on at the ruins of the school.

A figure could be seen by an electrical transformer. The same figure could also be heard making strange grunting noises as he connected wires in a seemingly dangerous way.

That got her to stop, coming closer to investigate. "Are you all right?" she asked, because that grunting didn't sound normal to her.

The figure turned around and took off his welding mask. "Huh? Oh, hi. I'm fine. I'm just rigging up some new electrical service for the school."

Aeryn frowned, asking, "Isn't it a bit early for that?"

The man scoffed. "Well, first I had to shut down power to the building for the clean-up crew. But since I was here anyway, I hooked up the brand new Binford Electrical Generator EP2600. This thing is great. Even after light bulbs burn out they'll still give off light because there will be so much more power!" He then let loose with a triple grunt to indicate his awe of the more power.

He worried her just a little. "Isn't that dangerous?" she asked. "That seems like a little more electricity than anyone needs."

"Do you know how much power a school like this uses up?" the man asked. "It's a lot. This will just help the place meet the power demands. I'm going to give this thing a test run. Want to watch?"

"...I don't think so," said Aeryn, taking a step further back just to be safe.

"No, come on. It won't hurt," the man said. He put on dark goggles and flipped a big switch on the Binford Electrical Generator EP2600. He stepped back towards Aeryn and handed her goggles, too. "Here. Just in case."

"I really don't think you should be doing this without a supervisor," said Aeryn, but took the goggles almost absently.

"I've been working with stuff like this for years. I don't need a supervisor," the man said. As if on cue, the Binford Electrical Generator EP2600 gave off a massive spark. All lights nearby suddenly went out. And then the Binford Electrical Generator EP2600 caught fire. "Uh oh," the man grunted.

There was a long pause while Aeryn took in what had just happened.

"I told you so."

Judas was sitting at the Kraken campfire.

Okay, it was just Jude, but he felt so un-Jude when he was all goth-y that he started thinking of himself as Judas. Long story. Involving vomitting in a girl's mouth. And a vibrating chair.

He was actually on his way to change and wash his face off, but was getting there in his slow, mellow, Jude-like way. Which meant chilling by the campfire and fixing his skateboard.

Tannim wasn't the biggest fan of the Great Outdoors - or rather, the Great Outdoors didn't like him very much, seeing as he was allergic to just about everything that grew outside. But it *was* camp, and anyway, how often did you get to burn things for fun? So he was outside at his cabin's campfire with a stack of wood, trying (rather unsuccessfully) to get a fire started.

[Open to anyone, especially if you can help with the fire.]
