Valentine had nobody coming to see him this weekend. Therefore, he was not out and about, celebrating the finer points of family and proudly showing off the campus and explaining classes and avoiding awkward explanations about how the world worked.

But that didn't mean he wanted to be cooped up in his room, being bitter about this point.

So, instead, he had invaded the second floor common room and had put a sign in the doorway.

Parents-less Party!
You don't have family on the island? That's no reason to be without! Grab the person nearest you and come on in, they're your parent for the day!

You know you want to. There's juggling. And popcorn. And Valentine has the TV turned to a Stuffed Domicile marathon for lack of anything better to put on.

He hadn't grabbed a parent for himself or anything. But Very Important Men had to be at least a little choosy.

(Open, as common rooms tend to be-- parents or not. Come on in and celebrate freedom from the 'rents, or rebel because you are bitter about parents, or even show up if your parents do happen to be about!)

At noon, John went down to the gym to set up flags, footballs, and cones for practice. He figured the students who didn't have family in town would be there and those who did have family would welcome the distraction.

Since last week Willow focused on touchdown dances, John decided this week they'd practice some things to help them actually score touchdowns. Meaning they'd run plays.

Aravis had briefly gone back to her room to change from her gown into some comfortable pants and a warmer shirt before grabbing Ata and heading outside to meet Cor. She'd talked to Seely about the brawl, only fair she lecture the other boy involved.

That was her pretext, but really, she mostly had missed her friend.

Seely had gotten up early for reasons that nothing to do with girlfriend-enforced temporary celibacy, and immediately gone down to the gym to work off the 'excess energy'.

He was in no way imagining any Princes of Archenland's faces on the heavy bag as he punched it.

[Seely's here for one person in particular, but open for all your gymly needs.]

There were four pale horses sprawled on the lawn outside the dorms.

No, it wasn't the apocalypse. It was simply that when Caritas starts serving beer in buckets, there's bound to be some fall out.

They'd staggered back from the bar last night, but finding their way to the stables had just been too hard, so they'd collapsed here to sleep the sleep of the very drunk.

Florian was lying on his back with his hooves in the air and snoring. Loudly.

Trenor, who'd been completely sober, was cropping grass, keeping a watchful eye on them. He was designated horse, after all.
