Viki, it must be said, had woken up very glad to still be unstung by her roommate--who was very nice after all, and terribly talented as a singer--but at the same time she was mildly out-of-sorts from several conversations yesterday though her mind shied away from remembering the details.

Who needed details? There had been talk, it had been uncomfortable, and figuring out how the lights worked in the common room just down the hall was far more interesting and important.

Flick on, flick off. Viki laughed as the lights did what she told them to with just a switch of knob. Wasn’t that exciting? Wasn’t that interesting?

If she’d been the wishing sort, Viki would’ve wished memories were more like that. As it was though, she had the lights, and the room, and that was enough to amuse her for now.

Flick on, flick off. How did memories work again...?

John met Dawn in the bathroom as discussed where he'd already set up the bleach and green kool-aid along with his step-stool right by the sinks.

Uncapping the bleach, John winced at the aroma.

"Okay, so we probably should've gotten drunk for this to make it really fair, but we can work around that."

[Open for that girl and whoever else belongs there.]

Okay. So maybe Reno had slept through Newbie day yesterday. He wasn't going to hold himself at fault, here. He had a new pet. It just so happened to be nocturnal. Playing had to happen, and maybe it happened on into the night. That was just the way of things, dammit.

Today? Today, he was going to make an effort to be social. Or something. He had intended to make it all the way down the stairs and outside, but after the trek from the fourth floor to the third, laziness managed to set in.

So he was going to make himself comfortable in a common room that was not his own, turn on the TV, and he was going to order out for pizza. Because that counted as social. Really.

[Common room open, as common rooms are! Come on in and help yourself to the moddable pizza.]

He'd left his room, and no one had stopped him. Then he'd left the floor, and no one had stopped him there either. So in the dorms, at least, Ender had freedom of movement. The same might have gone for outdoors-- there would be no guard stopping him. That was good to know. At least this prison had space.

But he didn't go outdoors. He'd seen a mention of the pool in a brochure, and he wanted to find it. He'd gone down every stairway until he'd found it, and then he stripped down to his trunks and slid seamlessly into the water.

If he closed his eyes, it almost felt like zero g. He tried swimming underwater for a little while, but the resistance sometimes broke the illusion, and so he'd started to drift, his eyes shut and his limbs stretched out.

[ open pool, of course ]

She'd been forewarned by Peter (and with Willow around, she was even less surprised) that the technology would be much advanced in comparison to what they knew. So when she discovered the televisions in the common rooms as she explored, Susan wasn't shocked or surprised so much as intrigued.

It took her a little while to work out how everything functioned, between the screen and the little rectangular thing with the buttons. However, once she understood that pointing the thing at the television and pressing the buttons was a way to control it, Susan made herself comfortable on the couch with some tea, and slowly began to peruse the channels.

[open as common rooms are!]
