Today's meeting of the reserves was not being held in its usual place, no. People had been handwavily notified that the meeting was going to be held in the Danger Shop, and to meet there once the classes for the day were over so that they wouldn't be getting in anyone's way. It was kind of amazing how much stuff could be crammed into one room, wasn't it?

"Heya, guys!" Zack grinned and nodded to people as they filed in. "Today, we're going to be starting on practical runs of stuff that we've been talking about, all along. Unfamiliar and rough terrain, weapons that might be equally unfamiliar, stamina, agility, and that sort of thing."

"Which means," Kennedy contributed, no small amount of cheerful and eager herself, "welcome to the Fandom Gladiators triathlon, you guys. Not everybody's going to be awesome at every single stage of this thing, but that's kinda the point: figuring out what you need to work on, or what you want to get better at. So keep an eye out for that while you're on the course, and we'll be keeping an eye on it too."

"And try not to get killed." Look, Jak... tended to like it better when Torn handled the debriefing. "We've got guns. If you shoot yourselves in the foot, it's not our problem." Well... it technically was, but whatever. "We start training next week. And, uh..." Pause. "Good luck."

Cassidy had gotten up early this morning and immediately headed out to the campifire for their cabin. She didn't really mind living in the cabins, but there was so much maleness on every side of her that she just wasn't used to. She realized that she needed some time to adapt to all of this, but she wasn't sure how.

However, there was something she could do in the meantime for her cabinmates and anyone else who might come by the cabin this morning. She made a quick run to the town and purchased a few things and vanished them to head back to the cabin.

She gathered some wood into the campfire space and then used a small tongue of witchfire to light the wood. While the wood was getting ready, she called in a mixing bowl and some supplies that she had thought to bring with her.

It didn't take too long for the smell of pancakes cooking over the fire to start expanding from the small area that Cassidy was determinedly working in.

It looked like there were going to be a lot of pancakes for whomever wanted them.

[[OOC: Open to cabin mates and anyone from any other cabin that might smell the early morning cooking.]]

Scully had printed out a copy of her graduate thesis (Einstein's Twin Paradox: A New Interpretation) today, and re-read it, keeping in mind everything she'd learned so far in her last three weeks here.

That would be why it's burning merrily in the little firepit outside her cabin, cover page first. As well as the page that read, Although common sense may rule out the possibility of time travel, the laws of quantum physics certainly do not. Nothing like wishing you'd never been right and wrong.
