Karla had missed the newbie picnic, sadly, and so far her only real interaction with anyone new to the island was having one knock her over and then turn into a baby cheetah before she'd even gotten his name.

Or before she'd gotten the lunch he'd offered. Dammit.

But such a shameful state of affairs couldn't stand any longer. Today Karla had decided to get to know people a little better by heading over to the common room and do a bit of baking to celebrate the newbies surviving their first week of Fandom. Yesterday's mention of cupcakes on the radio had her interested in trying her hand at making some of her own; she'd already pretty much perfected cookies, after all.

Maybe she could offer a batch or two to the teachers of the cupcake class!

"You behave," she told the baby cheetah sternly. "You can run around, but be careful. I'm not replacing any of the lamps in this room, too."

This week, as Freddie wasn't eaten by a locker and other technical difficulties were nowhere in sight, the iCarly broadcast was back in business. Freddie had his little AV cart all ready, the props were all in place, and there couldn't possibly be anything that went wrong.

He hoped.

Meanwhile, on the feed from Seattle, Gibby seemed very adamant. "I am not letting you cover me in pudding. That is a crime against pudding!"

[ooc: As always, it's a public place, so feel free to wander in! But wait for OCD first And we're up and running!]

Since Kate had stopped smoking a few weeks ago, her trips to the salle had handwavily gotten more frequent. And even if she wasn't feeling a particular stress today (or at least nothing big), she was practising with her knife anyway, concentrating on an already battered-looking dummy.

There was a dance-like quality to her movements, to the precise, smooth repetition of the stepping forward, jabbing the knife into the dummy, yanking it out, stepping back pattern she'd fallen into. It wouldn't be the most helpful in a fight but it was what she was doing right now. It calmed her down and soothed her nerves, doing something physical like that. Just like her dancing had, way back when. Today was one of those days that she was going to let those two things blend into one. Maybe she'd even try out doing a knife-wielding pirouette and see what kind of damage she could do to a dummy with that.

She felt like she could stay here for hours. It was probably for the best that she'd left a post-it on her door to let people know where she was.

[ooc: Post is open, whether it's Kate or the salle that you need!]

Squall was bored, so he was flipping through channels on the television. He could have been doing that on the expensive television in his room, sure, but...

No, he wasn't out here wanting to meet and talk to the new kids. Shut up.

At any rate, he'd happened across "The World's Strangest UFO Stories", and was just... confused. The narrator was insisting that aliens were invading some place called Scotland, and it somehow involved the Holy Grail not being in a place called Rosslyn.

(These people are all complete idiots. They're just asserting things without any evidence.)

He got some chips and settled in to watch.

(Open common room is open! Please come bother the Squall, because I suck and he hasn't been out and about in ages.)
