fates_jaye: (bad day)

It's 12:48 pm. Jaye is still in her pajamas. She may still have some bedhead going on. She is camped out on the sofa of the second floor common room with a blanket, a pillow, and a super size bottle of aspirin. And water. Lots of water. She also ordered out for pizza. And she hates everything on TV and wishes someone brought a movie. Because she's not going back upstairs.

Her head hurts. However, that shouldn't discourage anyone from stopping by and teasing (as she's too icky to care) or joining in the ughness (as you may have a better story).

Cally has wandered her way down to the gym. She's done enough fiddling with her new tools, reading, etcetera. The kickball game had sadly proven her athletic inadequacies. She was going to fix that.

She starts with running laps around the gym. After that, she would go to the weight room, and after that, she's grabbed one of Anders' Pyramid balls and plans to mess about on the court a bit.

No way the best Pyramid player on campus was gonna have a pipsqueak weakling for a girlfriend.

[[It's a public place. Feel free to stop in!]]

There's a bright flash of light and Shep and military issue footlocker appear in room 402. A second flash leaves a three foot by four foot by two foot metal cage and 2 inhabitants. Shep moves the cage to the desk and kicks the footlocker to the end of the bed. He stuck the doorstop sideways in the door so that it was open a couple of inches, but anyone stopping by would have to knock and he wouldn't be assaulted by every little thing that might happen in the hall.

It was kind of nice having a chance to go back to Atlantis and get some of his things, see his friends. The flip side was that he'd been back on Atlantis... and things were never calm there. Fortunately, he'd managed to avoid being hurt yet again. The wrist brace he'd been wearing when he left was replaced with a black wristband to cover up the scar. He'd taken to wearing it about two days after leaving Fandom when he decided that explaining the swordfight one more time was going to lead to some time in the Daedalus' brig for someone.

While on the Daedalus he'd spoken to General Landry over subspace who'd given him the option of returning to Atlantis and staying or returning to Fandom. But after hearing about Shep's role in the zombie attack he'd strongly hinted that he should at least go back for a while to make sure things were settled. Explaining that the zombies had been months ago and that there was never likely to be a time at Fandom when things were 'calmed down' hadn't seemed to impress Landry. Shep had swallowed the comment about jackass generals who insisted that he had choices... as long as he made the choice they expected him to. They had finally compromised on allowing Shep to leave if he thought he needed to. So in his footlocker was an Asgard-tricked-out radio that would let him send a signal to the Daedalus when the time came.

He lay on his stomach on his bed, sticking raisins through the bars of the cage and scratching the little noses that presented themselves for their treats. He tried to remind himself that he hadn't asked to be assigned to Atlantis and had ended up loving the place and the people and the adventure. Maybe he just needed a little more time to fall equally in love with this insane place. He had a couple of good friends and had a surface-level friendship with pretty much everyone. But, he chided himself, that was what he excelled at. Being the friendly, easy-going, good guy. The charmer who everyone loved even if they didn't know a damn thing about him. And most people around here seemed pretty pleased to leave it at that. Which left him feeling a little lonely more often than not, though he'd never show it to anyone.

Rolling over, he put the box of raisins up on the shelf and grabbed his computer out of his backpack. He figured he'd catch up on his local email and surf the web for a while. He'd discovered that being disconnected from the internet for an extended period of time was annoying as hell.

Rory glanced at the TV, and then around at the multitude of bored, hungover faces.

"Hey, we should play a game," she proposed lazily from her chair. "Like, one where I don't have to move. Truth or Dare, anyone?"

[ooc: Open to anyone either in the common room already or just passing through. The other post is just omg almost 500 comments as it is. :)]
