School Grounds, Wednesday afternoon

After the two boys were handwavily gremlin bit earlier in Chris' room, Jack Johnny and Ennis Chris headed outdoors to get to work and do what need's doin' to gather the herd and keep 'em secure on Crackback Mountain.

It was just that Johnny was a bit confused and glancin' over at Chris told him that the ranch hand was pretty much in the same boat.

"Ah, hell, Chris, I don't be seein' them heffer's 'round, do you? And the good Lord strike me dead if this here be Crackback Mountain. I'll be a yankee sumbitch if these here hills be called mountains."

Hands on hips, he glared at the ground.

"You thinkin' real hard over there or are you just as confused as I am?"

Gym, Wednesday Afternoon (After Classes)

After his mad studying earlier in Japanese class, Troy decided that he was all studied out. Instead, he made his way to the gym to do what he hadn't done in far too long: shoot hoops.

If anyone stopped by and wanted to join him? Well, there's always one-on-one, or HORSE, or any variety of basketball games they could play. And Troy could teach them all, too.

After Troy's games, Savannah was focused on setting up the gym for cheerleading, trying not to think about the flirty looks going on between her boyfriend and her big bother type.

She pulled the mats around and then set on the music and started waming up.

Second floor common room, Wednesday evening

After hearing the news about Chuck Norris congratulating Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow by not faxing a letter, but by staring at the letter until it faxed itself.

Clearly, he needed to have a Runner, Texas Ranger marathon in the common room. The first episode up was the one where Runner played Russian Roulette with a loaded gun... and won.

The roof: Wednesday at dawn

It had been nagging at Karal for days -- there was something he'd forgotten, or missed, or lost, but he hadn't been able to pin it down.

Until now. Just before dawn, he'd woken abruptly, the room dark apart from the blue glow of Altra's eyes, knowing what he'd missed. As quietly as he could, he dressed and went up to the roof, Altra padding by his side.
