When Squall left the dorm this morning, he found himself beset by a random encounter swarm of miniature Fastitocalons. Whatever.

He didn't leave the dorm WITHOUT his gunblade, except when he went to class, so he was prepared. A few slashes made short work of the monsters, and he found himself disappointed that it was over so quickly.

Unfortunately (or fortunately?), another swarm headed towards him at the same time that something cast Revive on all the KO'd monsters at his feet. Great. Just great.

He could be here all day.

And he wouldn't enjoy himself. At all. Nope.

Dolf had taken one look outside and known that this wasn't a time for him to leave the building. He wasn't a fighter; battle scenes just inspired in him blind panic that he really didn't need, not when he was trying to help.

But he'd stocked up on some supplies, just in case. And they could be useful. So by mid-morning, he had filled up the lobby with first-aid equipment, and food and water for anyone wanting to mill around.

He'd also left behind a few baseball bats - what little he'd been able to find in the way of weapons - and left them near the door.

And then there was nothing to do for him but wait, staring at the door and the windows and wondering if this horrible plague would ever pass, and hoping the other reserves would come through. He kept his phone on, just in case.

In the wee hours of the morning, on each floor and in the dorms lobby, handmade and simple posters on white cardboard went up.

After a long day out fighting creepy zombie piranha fish, Karla had fought her way to the castle, beyond the goblin city to Pizza Planet, in the vague hopes that perhaps someone had decided to go in early and gotten stuck. Or something.

Much to Karla's surprise, Pizza Planet was actually open and mostly staffed. The denizens of Fandom were even more jaded by the invasions than the students, and apparently decided a paycheck was more important than the piranhas.

They hadn't been particularly happy to see her. Probably because it had been a very light day for them, work-wise.

But she'd shown up and hadn't moved until they completed her order and now Karla had a giant stack of pizzas to feed people along with a few two litres of soda and a giant salad. After a long day of fighting (or even not), she figured that fresh, hot food that didn't come from a microwave would be appreciated.

She was still debating turning on cheesy horror movies like she'd talked about with Ben, though. That might be a bit much after today.
