John and Barbosa carry in a decently large item into the second floor common room first floor lobby third floor common room and hook it up.

Prepare to flee, for it is A KARAOKE MACHINE.

"Testing, testing. Well, Cap'n, you want first crack?"

While his morning had started very promising, things had gone very downhill afterwards. Vala really hadn't taken the news of him becoming Drusilla's TA very well and had proceeded to ignore him during the entire class. After going down to the library to ask Janet to check up on him, and finding it closed, Cameron returned to the 2nd floor. He went into his room and came back out with the tent he just got from Major K! this morning. He dragged it in front of room 215, right square in the middle of the doorway and then went to get some blankets and pillows.

He'd see how she was going to ignore him like this.

Very very late at night there is a commotion on the roof of the dorms.

Having spent the afternoon plotting, the gremlins quietly (for gremlins anyway) gather on the roof. Several are carrying suspiciously lumpy bundles. There is a minor argument (with scuffling) before a group of four head off down to room 230.

Surprisingly, there are only a few fights to hamper the night's work.

The results can be seen the following morning )

*****

Meanwhile, in the first floor lobby:

Four gremlins come hopping down the stairs. One is holding a catalog, one is holding several sheets of paper and is playing with a shiny silver pen. The other two are fighting over a silver lighter.

The four sit down on the lobby floor and begin going through the catalog. Three of them do anyway. The fourth sits off to the side and flicks the lighter repeatedly.

One of the three gremlins gets bored after a while and starts another fight over the lighter. The other two continue working. At least, they do until the two combatants roll themselves into them and all four scramble about in a pile for a while. One crawls his way out long enough to secure the paper he'd been writing on and then dives back in to the fight.

This continues until there is a noise somewhere in the building and all four gremlins freeze. Deciding that discretion is the better part of valor, they all dash toward the vent leaving lighter, pen and a much abused catalog behind.

Lana wandered around happily humming under her breath. There was no sign of any of the distress she'd seemed to be feeling over the past week. Eventually she found a common area to sit down in and work on her homework.

Marty walks back from town, a little confused as to how he ended up at Chaucer's last night. He remembers going for a walk with Rory.... but nothing after that.

His confusion is left behind when he sees the mess that happened last night.

"Jesus Parker! What the hell did you do this for?! It's Parent's Weekend!"

At which point he hears the giggles coming from the walls and the air vents. Marty's eyes narrow into a squint. Gremlins. Damn them. Damn them all.

Marty goes to his room and changes into a white tank top and daisy dukes more comfortable clothes, gathers the cleaning buckets, mops.

He also lays out some large tarps in a pattern not unlike a baseball diamond.

No reason why they can't have fun while they clean...

((OOC: Help clean up the mess! Find a Gremlin? You get to play Gremlin baseball))

(OOC WARNING: The flyer has a graphic that may be disturbing to some. This is a link to the same posters from last week. You've now been warned. However.. if you do choose to ICLY see the posters around the dorms, could I beg you to comment on 'em? Duce has no clue what the IC reaction to them has been, and the Journalism Students doing this project sorta need to know it for the report. Danke!)

Duce heads around the dorms, putting up more posters and fliers to be sure they were prominent for Parents Weekend.

Equipped with chocolate and gumballs (not for throwing tonight, thankyouverymuch), Anders and Cally intrepidly venture into the heretofore uncharted territory known as the Third Floor Common Room, in search of a change of scenery and a chance of avoiding Kara and Lee and a nice relaxing night, hopefully with some new people. This being Fandom High, of course, there's no telling exactly what could happen, especially on Parents' Weekend . . .

Located on ... pretty much every flat surface that looks like people wouldn't pitch a fit if someone left fliers on it, are a stack of fliers ) from the Just Say Yes To Vampires campaign. Arranged in a ring around each pile are sets of candy vampire fangs from Wonka's -- chattering soundlessly, which causes them to skitter across the surfaces of tables and look like they're almost dancing ring-a-round-the-rosie with the mini-posters.

Astute observers who haven't already disappeared to go avoid screw murder meet their parents yet will note that the fliers and candy are also being handed out in study hall.

[Shep is bouncing a tennis ball off the wall opposite his bed.]

I wasn't going to let this bug me. I really wasn't. This whole "parents' weekend" thing... whatever. I can get caught up on homework. I can recreate my dead Sims family. I can start exercising this stupid foot again. Oh, right, I can go back to the clinic and get cleared from these stupid crutches.

I can lock the door, stick my fingers in my ears and hum real loud for three days.

[anyone feeling like dealing with seriously morose character is welcome to stop in, but he's feeling extremely self-pitying and knows everyone but him has parents to contend with not expecting company.]

The door to 306 is slightly ajar. If you were to crack it open just a bit more, you might see this charming tableau:

6 stood with his arms crossed, amusement and annoyance both flickering across his face. Logan Echolls faced him, his back against the closet door -- more accurately, his waist against the closet door.

"Well, Goodfellow, I did tell you to stop backing up. Not to worry, though. The supermagnet is on an automatic release cycle. You'll be free in an hour."

Alanna and Jon walked down the hallway, holding hands and glancing at each other every few seconds.

"You know, it's nice, not having to go around lurking and thinking about what people are saying." Jon commented.

"What have I been telling you all along?" Alanna asked with a grin and stopped outside her room. "Um, this is my room. I share it with Lisa, I uh told you about her, right? I think you'll like her."

Jon grinned wickedly and hugged Alanna, making it a bit difficult for her to unlock the door. "Only if she doesn't mind sleeping elsewhere tonight."

Alanna flapped a hand at him. "Git. It's her room too you know."

Since his parents weren't coming and he didn't particularly feel like interacting with other people's parents when his own weren't there, Mustang planned to stay in tonight and conduct some low-key alchemy experiments. Unless something particularly interesting should go down to distract him, that's where he'll be. He does decide to leave the door open, however, because he doesn't want the air getting stuffy while he's working.

Every once in a while strange flashes of light and various sounds drift into the hallway through the open door. Don't mind them.

He tacks this note on the wall next to the door )

In what he has now mentally deemed "The Tick Chair" in the dorm lobby, The Tick sits. He is wearing a very snazzy hat made of Peeps. He's likely to offer a Peep to any parent who makes his acquaintance. His cowl is impeccably clean, so nobody should worry about eating a marshmallow that had just been on his head.
