Marty stumbled into the common room and started a pot of coffee and began the long boring process of making cupcakes for the "Welcoming Commitee" that Smith had drafted him into as punishment for a game of truth or dare that had gone horribly wrong.

He's not sure why he's making the cupcakes. He didn't even look at Jaye when she gave the Jazz Hands lapdance to Archie. Look at that crack in the ceiling! Not that he blamed Jaye. Technically it was all Rory Gilmore's fault for daring her.

Marty sighed and started reading the back of the cake mix to make sure he understood how this baking thing worked.

[OOC:Open to all. Help a Cusack make cupcakes, will ya?]

Sam stood outside the dorms in a t-shirt, a ratty old pair of USAF sweatpants tied at the waist, and her sneakers. She stretched out her muscles and waited to see if anyone else would show up.

Out front Pippi checked the extra room assignments and key that came in her folder. She shruged and pat Old Man on the nose.

"Well Old Man, you're in luck. It seems that you not only a room but a roommate as well. You and Mr. Neilson are going to be neighbors with Molly and me. Won't that be nice?"

The horse nodded his head and nudged the paper.

"Now I know you're excited 'cause normally inside is for rain, snow, and parties; but it's very important that we all put forth a good impression because I think I kinda actually want to stay in school this time. So if every day is a party because you're inside, then you have to be on your best party behaivor every day. Okay?"

Old Man nudged Pippi's ear.

"Okay," she said as she went and propped the doors to the lobby open. "Now we're on the 5th floor, so we got some climbing to do. You remember stairs don't ya Old Man?"

And with that she jumped up on his back with Mr. Neilson on her shoulder and rode into the dorms.

Cordelia ventured into her new room, dropping her bags onto her bed. She had met her new roommate earlier, and seemed to get along with her well enough. She started putting her things away into her closet, and into her drawers.

She smiled slightly, thinking of that Logan guy she had met earlier. He was certainly flirtacious. Maybe being in this weird school wouldn't be so bad afterall.

All of her clothes put away, Cordy started in on organizing all of her jewelry and makeup, feeling, overall, happy to be here.

Bored, bored, bored.

Having been holed up in his room all day working on a project, the meet-and-greet had totally slipped Bridge's mind.

So here he was, wandering in to the common room and finding it empty.

Flopping down on a couch, he proceeds to play "rock, paper, scissors". Against... himself.

Strugging up the stairs while trying to balance a large box, a larger duffel bag, a black briefcase-like thing, and a tankful of purple frog... kind of bit the big one. It also made Xander not terribly appreciative of the bustle around him as familiar faces returned from vacation and unfamiliar faces moved through the dorms giving off confusion-vibes that he was half-sure were contagious -- he almost stepped out of the stairwell onto the third floor instead of the fourth. Though maybe that was just wishful thinking, he thought as he huffed his way up the last flight of stairs.

Jeremiah glared at him when he set the tank down in the hallway outside room 406... )

Passers-by, or anyone who might stop in, might very well hear a continued though intermittent litany of phrases that might not make it past the WB standards and practices board, so it was a good thing he wasn't on the WB anymore, including such gems as "Where the frak is the Start button?" and "Stop MOCKING me, you little piece of elec-- **ribbit** no, not you, Jeremiah, but you can feel free to stop mocking me too."

If they poked their heads in the door, they would see this and this.1

After being checked over by Doctor House, Lana made her way up to the 4th floor common room. She had seen Shep earlier at the meet and greet for the new students, but had left early to go see the doctor. She didn't feel like being cooped up in a dorm room so she grabbed a blanket and pillow and headed to the common room to veg in front of the TV and hopefully not be alone.

Chloe gives a small grunt as she pulls a box out past the door of room 228 and into the hallway. She has to admit, she's excited about moving up to the East Attic with Veronica. She's really starting to like Piper - and the idea of having her own bit of space.

"I think we're going to need larger and stronger people for some of these boxes," she says to Veronica. "I didn't realize we'd made them so heavy."

[identity profile] death-n-binky.livejournal.com
DEATH, on the back of Binky, can be seen riding through the dorm rooms, wearing a standard black robe, a purple leather fedora, and a condom necklace on his scythe. He arrives at Room 333 and notices that his new roommate has not yet arrived. If possible for a seven-foot skeleton, he appears quite pleased and, after consulting what appears to be an interior design book from the 1980s, goes about decorating the room in welcome.

He appears to have copious amounts of faux fur in day glow colors, bits of colored springs, and lots of construction paper. He begins constructing a large, friendly looking sun, as seen in his book, with faux fur rays.

THIS SUN WILL SHINE THE RAYS OF MY WELCOME

...

I BELIEVE THAT WAS PROPERLY METAPHORICAL.

Binky stands in the center of the room, watching patiently with a rubber duck on his back. He may stick his nose out the door from time to time, if someone were to pass down the hall.

((OOC: For the new people: DEATH is a seven-foot tall skeleton, who is often seen with Binky, a large, white, and very much alive horse. Normally he'd be wearing black robes, but, well... he discovered fashion last semester. We'll leave it at that. His eyes glow blue and, for obvious reasons, he has no facial features. DEATH cannot be seen by everyone, because it would break brains. Anyone of a magical/supernatural nature can see him, cats can see him... if you're in a trance, delirious from pain, really high or drunk, or just really Strange-In-The-Head (ie. The Tick) you can probably see him. You might just see a tall, skinny, fuzzy looking guy. The more you interact with DEATH, the better you get at seeing him if you are not so inclined. If you can't see DEATH, you just feel the sense of dread that seems to pervade the area around him. Everyone can hear DEATH, even if they can't see him. His words aren't heard by ears, so much as by heads, but that's not too important. Any Questions?))

Lyta paused just outside the door to room 326, hesitant to enter. She clutched her room assignment in her hand. Drawing a deep breath, she read the text once again: "Roommate Name: Susan Ivanova."

As with the first time she read it, her heart sunk to her stomach, a mixture of sorrow and apprehension. How had Susan ended up here? Had the latest Entil'za met her end, and was transported here for her own second chance? Or some reason less violent? Would Ivanova even remember her? The station XO had her own reasons for not trusting telepaths; despite all their work together during the Shadow War, there was still a level of discomfort on both their parts...especially after everything Lyta had done after the war.

Anyway she looked at things, Lyta found her year was going to be very interesting.

She raised her hand to the doorknob, thought better of it, and knocked. There was no immediate answer. Tapping the door again, she waited only a brief moment before twisting the knob and easing open the door. "Ivanova?" She was met with silence.

Victor sighed in relief as he opened the door and dropped his bags inside. Finally! Maybe next time I should ask Collossus to carry these for me. Or Julian. Nah, he'd probably tell me just to do it myself... As he stood in the doorway, he marveled at his new dorm room. This is much bigger than at Xavier's. And I have my own bathroom! No public showers for me! he thought, cringing at the idea of public nudity. Though his arms were tired, he managed to get his bags fully into the room, and when the door was shut he plopped faceup onto his new twin-sized bed and took in a deep breath. "This is it, Victor," he said aloud. "No more supervillians knocking down the door, no more...accidents. You're just a normal kid at a normal school."

He lay there for a few moments, then decided to get up and unpack. An hour later, his clothes were in his dresser, his bathroom was stocked, and on his nightstand, next to his alarm clock, stood his most prized possession: an action figure of Northstar, signed by Jean-Paul himself. When he was done, Victor looked around and frowned. "Something's missing...but what? Well...the walls do look a little bare. Maybe there's a store somewhere around here where I can get a poster or something. It couldn't hurt to look around, either, could it?" He shrugged and, grabbing his trusty video camera and his room key, he walked out into the hallway and began to explore.

Angel was out in the 2nd floor hallway.

In theory he was going back to his room after taking Sean for a walk.

In reality he was standing in front of one of the many, many campaign posters that had his name on it and was trying to tear it down.

He might be heard to mutter words about really strong tape, and dire thoughts about someone whose name rhymed with Doreen.

[ooc: Open to anybody]

The window is open, the room is mostly devoid of furnature, other then a bunch of hay bails around the room. There is also a perfectly normal, perfectly calm white horse with dark spots here.

Ya know, just chillin'.
[identity profile] walter-n-wires.livejournal.com
Walter unlocked the room and looked around. Not exactly what he'd been used to, but all things considered, he'd seen worse. "Alfonse Elric" was his roommate, but Walter didn't see any sign of him around.

Shrugging, he chose the bed farthest from the window. You never knew what might come crawling through your window at night, and with Alucard in London, that left Walter with a definite dearth of someones he'd want crawling through his window. No offense to this Alfonse guy, but he'd rather have a moment to wake up before he had to start fighting.

It didn't take long to unpack - a few books, a few clothes (Alfonse might be one of the few people to ever learn that Walter owned more than just formal attire.)

Work (what there was of it) completed, he kicked open his door and propped open a window in order to lean out and have a cigarette. "This Elric guy had better not be allergic to cigarette smoke," he muttered to himself. Everyone was these days, it seemed.

[OOC: Anybody who wants to say hi to the freshman, I'm trying to get a handle on this place. Walter will smile and be friendly with anyone who shows up.]

After recieving his key and paperwork, Togusa decided that he would try to talk to some people later on. He wanted to look over some things on his laptop, and he hoped that his roommate, Pip Bernadette was not going to be around.

There were a lot of odd people (And some not) around, and he made a few mental notes about what he saw before reaching the 5th floor of the dorms. The room was empty, so he flopped down on his bed and pulled out his laptop. Pulling the wire from the back of his neck out, he plugged in and started to surf, looking up different news articles and other things. Practice for Section 9, after all.
