Sakurazaki was actually pretty surprised that her flight didn't end up being rained out, and she returned to the dorms and stalked upstairs feeling rather tired, but extremely good. Really, the only thing that had kept this day from being perfect was the lack of Jude. But before she could be too excited, she still had to make a very important phone call )

She couldn't help herself. There was a squee. A very significant one at that. She's glad that she's alone at the moment.

But now it was time for the next important thing. She was famished again, as per usual post-flight. She bounces over to the kitchenette and makes herself a very big bowl of rice.

She then settles on the couch, leaning forward rather than curling into a corner like she's like. Back was too sore. But she finds a poorly dubbed Tamazilla movie on television. Perfect.

Okay, so there were thunderstorms threatening. Conner was learning to get used to the fact that the weather in Virginia just wasn't the same as it was in California, but he wasn't about to let that stop him from getting outside and playing some soccer with real grass under his feet.

There was just one problem: no goal. Conner made a mental note to write home and have his collapsible practice goal sent out, because this just wouldn't do. For now he made do with a couple of trees that were about the right distance apart.

The lack of a goalkeeper made it slow going, and the lack of a net was even worse. Conner really hated having to jog fifty feet to go retrieve the ball every time he "scored." He really missed his super speed right about now.

[OOC: Open (but subject to slowplay) like Macy's during a holiday sale, yo.]

River lay on her back on the common room floor, arms and legs spread out, watching the octopus she'd painted. Oh, and the nice symbols she had added around it. And the yellow fish.

The painting was still the same. Not that it shouldn't be, but her conversation with Giles about books with symbols had had her a little worried. Just a little.

After attempting to take care of her hunger (mission status: failed), Sakurazaki notices that it's about the time to meet with Peter to check out the spot for their live steel training. It strikes her as odd that she's never really bothered to come out to this area before; while she waits, she just sort of glances around quietly, thoughtfully. And her fingers are tingling, because, in not too long, she'll be standing around here, but she'll be doing it with Yuunagi.

The locker was quiet today as it had been for quite some time. Maybe it was hibernating or possibly storing up its energy for something big. It was impossible to say.

[[OOC: Only for those who have contacted me about coming to the locker today please.]]

Rory didn't understand why people insisted she was such a bad cook.

She had like, an apron and everything. And she had washed her hands, because it was gross to cook and not do so beforehand. And how hard could it be? Measuring out stuff - it was just like chemistry, which she had been quite good at when she was at Chilton.

And besides, these were cookies. Even she and Anakin couldn't screw up cookies.

[Here for Anakin and Rory to fail miserably at making cookies, but all are welcome to stop by and watch or sample :)]

Blair checked that the common room was empty before sneaking in and setting close to the television. His package arrived in the mail today and he had been waiting until now to pop it into the DVD player.

Doing one final check around the room he reached up and hit play, bouncing excitedly as the theme song music for "Runner, Texas Ranger" started.

Cause the eyes of a ranger are upon you, any wrong you do he's going to see. When you're in Texas, look behind you...cause that's where the rangers gonna be.

Blair is totally not singing and bouncing along to the theme song. At all.

Alec was up on the roof, because a) mostly secluded, b) it was cooler outside than inside, and c) kitty likes high places it was easier to think with no distractions.

He was beginning to think the whole introverted/thinking deeply thing was overrated though. Way too much crap he really didn't want to deal with, really. Maybe he should just go claim an empty common room and veg out in front of the television instead. He wasn't quite ready to leave yet, though.

[OOC: Roof open to anyone who needs, [livejournal.com profile] saltandammo's thread locked to he who be him and Alec.]
