*Death walks down the hall towards room 333. He stops in front of his room, and touches the door handle lightly, smiling, as well as skulls can smile (which is not at all). After all, it is only proper that doors have handles. He then walks right through the door and into the room, unpacking a small bag and depositing a small mug that reads "World's Greatest Grandfather", a silver comb and brush, and a few other small personal items on the desk.

Not needing any sleep, he decides to go check on Binky, his horse, who has been left on the school lawn. He decides, however, to take a shortcut, through the walls of the ajoining rooms.

Those not inclined to see things of a magical nature feel only a disturbing presence, a chill in the room and, if particularly perceptive, a sense that the darkness just became a tad bit darker wherever Death has passed*

Jess side-steps a group of students in the hall, juggling a duffel bag and a stereo in his hands.

Finally. As much as I loved being a hall fixture, I don't much like crowds, he thinks to himself as he pushes open door 121.

At least I got a single. No asshats to shuffle around.

He throws the contents of his duffel bag into random drawers. He doesn't bother closing them; he's just going to open them again tomorrow morning.

He goes about setting up his stereo, making sure that his Bjork cd survived the move. Ignoring the commotion in the hallway, he kicks the door shut and blasts the music.

"I'm a loner Dottie, a rebel... That should send a clear enough message," he mumbles as he throws himself on his matress and grabs On The Road from the floor and starts to read.

After classes, Charlie eats a quick dinner and goes up to his room. He changes clothes--well, his shirt and shoes, at least, since Quinn forbade the trainers he was wearing--and debates shaving. However, it's not quite five o'clock shadow yet--more like 3:45 shadow--so he lets it be.

With a little cash in his pocket, Charlie sets about knocking on every door and asking if Quinn lives there.

He's felt more ridiculous.

Kiki is clutching a slip of paper, her broom, as usual, on one shoulder and her bag on the other, Jiji trotting along beside her as she climbs the stairs.

"Yes, Jiji, Ms. White said room 414. This is...uh... the 3rd floor. One more. Come on, Jiji."

Jiji meows crankily.

"Yes, once I know where it is, I'll just leave the window open and we can come and go that way."

She reaches the 4th floor and opens room 414.

"I'm supposed to have a roomate - yes, other than you, Jiji - but it looks like she hasn't checked in yet. I wonder which bed she'll want. Good thing I don't have much stuff to move in!"

She puts her bag on the bed and opens the window.

"I hope our neighbors are nice, too..."

"Hi," she says. "I'm Quinn. I have a date tonight with... I don't actually remember his name. He's a musician. He plays the guitar or something. He was playing outside yesterday, maybe you saw him? Bad shoes? Anyway, I have to postpone and I don't know where he's rooming and he can't come to me because I can't let him see me like this, so I'm wondering if you could find Musician Boy and give him this note. Thanks, bye!"

Quinn runs off again before anyone else can see her in non-date clothes, leaving the poor assaultee with the note.

River watches oatmanspatient storm away down the second-floor corridor. She gives it a good fifteen seconds, then comments, "Well. That was overly dramatic." She looks up and down the corridor, arms crossed over her chest. "Everyone alright?"

Room 118

Roy pushes open his dorm room door and sees his roommate nursing a bruised head. He ignores him.

In his arms is a giant high-powered microwave oven, and some other junk, including a fat candle. Roy sets up his new science experiment for the science club, but before he puts the lit candle in the oven with the other stuff, he carves an alchemic array into the wax. He shuts the microwave door, and turns it on high.

At first nothing much happens, then after about 20 seconds there's a crackling sound, and the microwave lights up like a small white sun. Roy leaps out of the way as the glass door of the microwave shatters, and a "ball of lighting" the size of a basketball shoots through the open door and into the hallway of the first floor at a rapid pace.

There's crashing sounds, and cursing, and shrieks, and a sort of charcoal smell.

Mustang pulls himself up, brushes bits of micrwave debris off his clothes, and grins like it's his birthday.

"AWESOME!" he shouts, and runs into the hallway to see where it goes. He's secretly hoping it finds a stairwell and hits multiple floors one after another.
